  1. I cannot believe some of the shit people are putting on this thread, do you realise that if any of these 'hypertheticals' were to happen and this thread was found it could be used to show premeditiation on your part!

    I know I am new to this site and have by no means established myself but as far as I'm concerned if you are poacahing your a thief, end of story. If you are responsible and have a genuine reason to use land, ASK, if the owner / manager says no then respect that and move on, its their property and their choice. I live on the London/Essex boarders and finding land to shoot on is harder than finding rocking-horse shit. After 2 years of graft all I have to show for it is 7 acres, and that is all I shoot on unless guesting with someone who has permission elseware. When on the ground I wouldn't take a shot if the quarry was even 6" on the other side of the boarder, theres no was i would risk my licence and my liberty for the sake of a +1 in my bag.

    Poachers are part of the reason its so damn hard to get land signed of and ruin it for all the genuine shooters, but talking about shooting them / ramming their vehicles etc only reinforces the deomonized image of shooters those ignorant to the sport have.

    Rant over! :icon_redface::big_boss:

  2. Cheers Mushroom, Someone once told me dusk and dawn were the best times as apparently they have trouble focusing due to the light and that these are key feeding times for them??? I've stuck by this and there always seems to be a fair amount of activity around these times.

    Hopefully the next time I get out the land would be cleared so I can use my 17hmr as opposed to a PCP, get a little range on the buggers! :tongue2:

  3. Last night I sucessully managed to perfect my Elmer Fudd impression! 2 1/2 hours on the ground in high winds and driving rain and not a single bunny bagged. Throughout the evening I saw a good 20 or so rabbits but they where either too close to / in the hedgerow which denied a clean shot, or they were wise to me before I spottd them and scarpered.

    I should clarify that I am fairly new to the hunting side of shooting sports and am still on the very steep inital learning curve for it, although I have been using rifles and SG's in various roles for over a decade.

    My question is this... what is the general concensus on the best way to get results when shooting rabbits?

    thanks in advance

  4. Hello everyone,

    Just wanted to pop my head above the parapet and introduce myself. I'm completely new to this site and relatively new to hunting as well, but thankfully I've just secured my first plot of land (finally) to hunt on so will hopefully be learning lots quickly.

    I'm not really sure what else to put without making this sound like a lonely hearts ad so if you have any questions feel free to ask :p

    Regards,

    Richard
