My Daystate air ranger comes with a shrouded barrel and is super quiet. I don`t even have a mad fitted but have tried it with one and all you can hear is the action and the pellet strike.
Quietest I`ve came across anyway

sorry but whats a mad???
i think you ment a mod sorry just twigged, have you got a picture of that rifle,id like to see that.?
Ha ha ha MOD yes!

For my tuppence worth. All my rifles are recoiling springers, including FAC tuned HW80 which can wreck a cheap scope. I've used 2-piece Sportsmatch double-screw clamp mounts for years on all my rifles and never had a single problem of movement with any of them.
The beauty of the two piece mount is the fact you can adjust the spacing between them on the length of scoperail, to better ballance the weight of the scope, with the weight of the rifle to maintain good overall ballance at the shoulder and forehand.
Single-piece mounts do not give you this degree of control; other than a firm clamp-up on the rifle.
Simon
thanks simon you have some very valid points there,im going to stick with 2 piece.

looks a top notch bit of kit that shay.

hi lads i was just wondering what rifle it would be,not one where you add an after market moderater but new and straight from
the box and no price limit.???could be some interesting views maybe.

tony
ps maybe you could show the rest of us on here which one you think, with a picture or a link, thanks.
-
If it's not broken, don't fix it
If what you've got kitted up with now isn't giving you grief, leave it be. No point spending cash you don't have to.
point taken andy, why waste money ay.
-
ive not had any movement problems yet with 2 piece mounts but i might get a 1 piece just to make sure no future movement
occurs, thanks for you quick replys buddy.
-
On a springer, yes. On a PCP or Co2 there's not much point
sorry andy forgot to mention on a springer,is it because its less likely to move along the rails.??
-
hi guys sorry if this question has been asked many times before but is a one piece mount a lot better, what are your views please.
