  1. I am always out on my own, and tend to go from 8pm til early hours, i have 2 lakes on the permission as well as a small wood, gets proper scarey as there are a load of deer in the woods and about on the land, badgers and fox's and the stoat at night too. Loads of pairs of eyes so at present it does not seen very productive , just waiting for them to liven up out of the warrens and then show time, may then start thinking of getting someone else in their with me to keep up with the furry critters.

  2. Thanks for the help guys, i said about taking the stock off but he not to fussed, Like i said it was on a whim , i dont even think he will ever put a pellet through it, as he not really into shooting, He saw my gun and was offered this so he "had to have it" i did think about buying it but its been pumped up to FAC apparently and i did not really want the aggro of finding out how to wind it back again. plus maybe in a year or so of it sitting collecting dust i might get it even cheaper lol. but its not in the same league as my HW100. Thanks again and merry christmas people. and its .22

  5. I am currently on my Essex permission and have only seen 3 rabbits had 2 shots and got one . All alone . Think this moon is far too bright tonight . Stick out with gun like a saw thumb + reckon I out a bit early tonight as very quiet

  6. Noticed yesterday after not using my gun for 3 days the cylinder gauge is almost on empty. I took the cylinder off today and have placed a balloon over each end of the cylinder to check both the threaded end and the quick fill end. Neither balloon has any change. So now thinking its somewhere else. Would i be best to send it off to Hull cartridges or is it not to tricky to change the o rings. That is if thats were its leaking from. Has anyone had the same trouble or a possible cure. Cheers all.

  7. Went out for a few hours on my permission on the last 2 nights, the owner has a lot of trouble with rabbits causing his horses problems out in the field , I can only go there at night when the horses are in the stables so time is limited, However its lovely wandering around on my own, sitting laying and watching what is about,On the first night i managed to bag 9 bunnies and saw a vast amount of wildlife, dear fox and something i guessed was a badger but now after seeing the badger again last night i am unsure. It had a fawn/tan sort of coat very short legs and a long tail with a distinct round black short face. Last night i saw a dozen Roe and fallow dear mainly Doe's ,1 Muntjac, 1 definate Badger, 3 foxes, i will try to get some pics of them next time as they go about there life. i then sat and had a coffee before setting off for the rabbits. It took about 2 hrs to get the 7 pictured, could have taken more but still need to improve standing and sitting stances, the land is very open the rabbits seem to know where they can get to so as to be just out of range, or beyond long grassy patch,s , still 7 is better than nothing, there is a long way to go as i saw a lot of them about in the summer evenings before we sorted out the permission. he's just glad its getting sorted i think. i took one picture not the best next time hopefully some wildlife pics to show too, I'll be back there after the weekend.post-52398-083813200 1287052286_thumb.jpg

And being Equestrian he has electric fence and wire all over the place, great in the dark.

  8. yep agree with that, i been doing ok with my white light but the rabbits getting wise to me know so have just got a red filter for my deben mini. will be trying it out next week. the field is alive with them

  9. The bleed valve is closed when i try to do this, is this the valve you mean. there is a whole on the underside of the regulator assembly of the cylinder it comes out of there.?

What a wally theres a black plastic gromit thing in the bottle. it is used when i use the brass adaptor to fill the cylinder direct from the bottle i think. Just took it out and tried to use the probe again, this time it worked fine. I am a wally.

Anyway we had a good day today, up at 4am to get to the deer, my father in law had a shot with his 243 rifle, sadly he missed then we sat and watched a doe cross the fieldand then a muncjac evaded us too, still managed a dozen rabbits.

  10. I looked through the guidelines and could not find anywhere saying not to mention this so , if its not allowed i'll take it straight off but i was in search of a filing bung and a quick fill probe for my HW100 today, my local gun shop put me in contact with a company called www.best-fittings.co.uk absolutely brill, next day delivery and they do shed loads of bits that can be hard to come by. they seem to have almost all makes catered for. Like i said i hope i am ok putting this here as i thought it might help some people out in the future.

  11. After much searching on here bbs,agf and guntrader i finally found what i wanted a lovely HW100 with all the trimmings (except a bipod) thats next, Thanks to bullx lad, Got it home and put a few shots down the garden smack bang in the middle of the target, carnt wait to get out, first time should be Saturday up home then i got permission on a farm in essex for the sunday, hopefully post a few pics up, i'll get some of the gun on here too, Incidently the journey was East London to Worksop then Worksop to the Sunny East coast of England near Great Yarmouth. well worth it though, glad i went for the weihrauch instead of the R-10, love the side action loader and the fact it has the anti double load on it too,

  12. in my hunt for the best air rifle for my budget i thought i had almost set myself on a bsa r-10 , today i find a mk2 hw100 for just over 600 , a little over budget but what a gun, i then found a mk1 . Not quite so good as no quick fill and no real moderator. For 450. Now the question is , i have read of barrel changes to incorporate a moderator, but with no costing, and do you lose much from not having the quick fill. What a gun though, glad i got to try them out. i am leaning toward the hw100 slightly. I like the side cocking, had a go of the aas410 and put that to bed, the cocking action was much stiffer than the r-10. oh decision time, if anyone could shed some light on the barrel change,
