  1. I have for sale an absolutely mint Beretta 686 o/u 20 bore, it is still in bubble wrap in its own case with complete set of chokes, choke spanner and all manuals it has only had 25 cartridge put through it, whoever buys this will not be disappointed £1000 Ono.

  2. I've got the 20 bore o/u, got it about 5 years ago and took a risk, not knowing how good they were, I bought it cause it was very light and this suited me for rough shooting covering a lot of ground with it under my arm, It was a fantastic buy and they have gone up in value since, my only criticism would be that the metal around the breach is easily marked but I abuse my guns in the field anyway, other than that they are flawless.

  3. The buy 500 hold 600 seems to be a common thread across the various Police forces, mine is the same (Devon & Cornwall),

my mate used to have hold 1,000 buy 500, but at his last renewal it 'defaulted' to the same as me even though he put in for

1,000 on the application, the above are all vermin live quarry shooters.

The only people I know who have more are Target shooters, a work collegue of mine has 2,000 / 2,500 which he says all his

clubmates have as well they because want a big stock from the same batch for consistency.

So maybe that's the key? Anyway a 500 brick at a time suits me fine.

As above I was going to add the same, if you are target shooting and are a member of a club you can ask for more, I renewed my fac this year and got 1500 to buy and 2000 to hold, but if its just for vermin control they would be reluctant to grant more than 500 buy 600 hold.

    Good Luck.

  4.

My Howa 1500 is good, be even better when i get a new scope for it (one that's CF rated that is :icon_redface: )

As I keep saying Hutchey, get a Nikon on board, you will be amazed :icon_eek:

I'll second the Nikon scope, they are amazing value for money.

As for the Vanguard 2 they are beautiful bits of kit, a howa action as smooth as you like and although they are guaranteed sub MOA out of the box, they are better if you float the barrel.

  5. Just bought the MTC Viper 8-32x60 this is to go on my CZ 17HMR just wondering if anyone had ever shot with this scope and will it be okay for the gun?? soon to be on the gun and zeroed in just hoping it zero's in okay and isnt too powerful for the gun.

    Regards Jordan

I have got exactly the same set up, same scope same rifle, it is a great combination and excells with those far out crows.

  6. Personally I find the kestrels a bit clunky, I prefer the feel of AYA's. My first gun was an AYA Yeoman, many years ago, it got plenty of use and never failed. Not the prettiest of guns but it worked. Also had an AYA 25 and again no issues, wish I had never sold the 25 to be honest.

Go and shoot a few see what you think handles best. I prefer an English straight stock and small fore end, hence the AYA's. They just seem to handle better for me.

AYA are spanish manufacturer's, I had a Yeoman years ago and loved it, would still have it today if I hadn't dropped it and split the stock, I have got an AYA No4 now and I love it aswell, if you are going to get one, keep an eye out for the ejector model as some are none ejectors.

  7. Doesn't really matter what make of gun you use, you can get two guns exactly the same make ,action, barrel length etc and they will shoot totally different using the same ammo.

The best thing to do is try a few different brands such as Eley, CCI, Winchester and see what groups best, ohh and stay away from high velocity rounds.
