I was out ferreting today trying to get the ferrets used to the game trying all morning without much look, it came to 12pm and I decided to head home on the way back through the woods where I was ferreting. My oldest lurcher was marking a one wholer half his body was down this hole also he was scratching at it, so I thought why not !! So I put the ferret down the hole thinking I will not bother netting the hole .. About 20 seconds later the sound of thumping under foot , I could not believe it so I put a hand made net on quickly and 10 seconds later the rabbit bolted into the

  3. No no I give them all the time and chances that they need they just don't seem to want to go down the hole. I think repetition is the way forward
  4. Thanks Mick20 I think they are only young I was out this morning with them and there was thumping under ground but nothing came of it . I think it will just take time . And just mooching

  8. Hope so am not one of these lads who gets rid if they don't work out . I even have an old rabbit skin that I try and make them go for . I still think a older ferret would be a good help with traing my ferrets up and to start filling the frezer thank kile
  9. I have bean out with them 3 times now and they have not bolted anything , and there was rabbits in the set because I Seen them run in so it can not be cos there is no one at home!.
  10. Not sure how old and they just roll around the rabbit hole and they keep on coming right back out the set.i have never had this problem with ferrets befor .
  11. Hi all I was given two ferrets and I thought that they were good workers . But they are not. can they be trained ? Or will I need another ferret to show them the way . Thanks kile
  12. I am mate and she is on gain 28 and she is pretty fit despite being undernourished .

  14. I've got my lurcher and he takes everything so she will be learning off him shes already learning off him and I've had her for less than a week, I'm taking her ferreting for the first time on Tuesday so we'll see how she copes with that

Yeah she is scrounging for food all the time, I have her on a high protein feed which will get the bulk on her ASAP, I will put another photo of her on in a couple of month time to compare the difference. She is showing a keen interest in rabbits and very keen interest in cats which is not to my liking.

  18. I have been given a smart looking bull x whippet because the lad was neglecting her, I already have a collie x whippet x grey which is great in all aspects of hunting. Just wondering what a bull x whippet would be good for, many thanks. Kile1
