  1. Selling a dog to put a mere £180 towards a new van?? I could think of a lot of things to sell to make £180 before i sold one of my terriers.

likewise. if i had a decent terrier id sell my arse before that... :clapper::notworthy:

Ive have worked and sold other things to make money mate, you dont know anything about my situation...And im the same, i wouldnt take any amount of money for any of my other terriers but if you read the add propperly, the dogs genuine enough but isnt the right dog for me. :whistling:

  2. A 16 month old lakeland type terrier

Very keen dog working foxes, would be ideal for a terrierman as it doesnt hunt up!

This is one of the keenest dogs i have ever owned a little too keen for my liking and mixes very well with its quarry.

the reason im selling is i havnt got any work on at the moment and i need money to buy a new van.

    £180 ono

  4. Try a different coloured filter, i just bought a green filter it works alot better than the red in my area because the foxes have recognised the red filter an become lamp shy. I'll put money on it that every fox in my area has been run by a lurcher a few times so theyre pretty wise, if its the same where you are the only way u'll catch them is if you get a lucky slip

  5. I know its a long shot over christmas but ive got steady dog for sale 14 month old catching rabbits on the lamp and in the day, nice natured and good with other dogs, quiet in the kennel, jumps, everything you would want from a working dog got the potential to do more which you would expect with a dog of this breeding ;) just i havnt had the chance to get him on the stuff which i wanted to, shame to see this dog go but its just not the dog for me. Im only asking £100 but im open to offers. thanks

  6. Nine times out of ten a squirrel will bolt if it can. Ferrets will win without a doubt they go for the throat and kill but squirrels are hardy little buggers do fight back with one or two bites to the nose at worse, I've used small jills which have bolted big bucks but they can take a bit of a battering but nothing more than what i have seen while rabbiting just its a little more often

  8. Got this problem myself at the minute.

Got nice well bred saluki/lurcher off a lad was ment to be stock broken, First time I had her out around sheep she ran straight up to them. Obviously they ran off she then chased but didnt try and grab them it was like she wanted to play with them more then anything.

She is just gone 12 months now a really nice dog well behaved this is the problem I got with her training now so going to have to come up with a solution myself.

If I couldnt break myself I would be looking at getting someone else in to do the job.

Anybody know of any trainer who do stock breaking

    Regards Ben Wright

Ive seen a few peoples dogs do this, it might not seem bad but the dog will eventually go for them. from the farmers point of view your worrying the sheep so he could still shoot your dog, Try the rope mate its worked on a few dogs now, i used to carry a length of hose pipe around with me and giv them a slap if it pulled on the lead but i found the dog would still kill them but on the sneek when your not around. different dogs different methods i think
