    Can any recommend a decent rechargeable torch or lamp for use when exercising my lurchers at night ? I use a lightforce 170 and a 22amp battery when I go out lamping the but the battery is too heavy to carry around just for a walk and I am to tight to buy a lithium battery pack....(I will when the other battery packs up)!! I would like something with a decent range on it so if the dogs chase something I can still keep them in the beam. I have tried various lamps from DIY stores but they never last long like the makers claims! Any ideas much appreciated...

    hi everyone; many thanks for all the advice i really appreciate it some very intresting views . I dont think keeping on lamping with him and waiting for the penny to drop about coming back to me quicker will get him more runs will work with him as he has caught a few times in the dark with the lamp off on the otherside of the field which has probally made him more confident that he dosent need my assitance..!! using a electric collar would be an absolute absolute last result as i have seen dogs zapped by a fence round pheasant pens and it has messed them up for the rest of the days beating

    hi sorry if this topic has been done to death but i need some advice ,i am quite new to lurchering and i am having problems getting my 15 month collie /greyhound to come back after a missed run; he then carries on hunting the rest of the field. I turn off the lamp straight away and have tried walking in the other direction obviously i dont want to be be shouting or whistling him as that also defeats the object of creeping around silently ,he does improve if he has caught a couple or had a few runs. he is pretty biddable during walking and around stock etc and is turning out to be a great ass

    hi i have never snared squirrels before but have seen it done on one of the warrerners dvds he rests a straight branch or lenght of wood at an angle from the floor to about 8 to 10 foot up the tree he baits it with peanut butter in about 3 places and sets 3 small snares close to the bait when the squirrel is snared it strugggles and then loses grip and hands itself... hope this helps.... regards mark
