    If he is lining his own guns along the border between the two sets of land there is a good chance they are shooting into your land which is a damn sight more illegal than you crossing unarmed to pick up

    Agree with everything that man says the late 300tdi is a workhorse it just keeps going

    arnt all landys? mate of mine got a 98 disco with more rot and welding than my other mates series lla It all depends on what sort of life they have had and if they get abused or not. My '98 300tdi is clean only very minor rust. If they get waxoiled every 2 years you'll find there not too bad but once the rust does get in it a continual battle to stop it spreading Matt

    There lays the problem with TD5 from what I have heard its a good engine but niether cheap or easy to fix. My pal has one and loves it mind. But still misses been able to get his head under the bonnet & patch with chewing gum & sticky back plastic like the 300tdi & older basic engines.

    I have to be honest for the price you can pick up a 300tdi now go for that but check for the usual stuff. Most 200tdi's are on there last legs structualy Matt

    10 year old disco with 90,000 miles barely ran in. £3,000 tops but it'll need to be mint body wise. Get on yer back & get underneath it. Rust kills disco's not running gear faults. Check internal front wheel arches (from under the bonnet, main chassis & floor pans, try & see as much of the bulkhead as possible and as said ealier check the boot floor (get the carpet up). Check the colour of the oil on the dipstick (although could be a touch misleading if recent oil change) Disconnect one of the hoses on the engine breather (it will be sooty but check for large lumps of oily sh

    I used to beat when I still lived down in Lincolnshire and loved it to bits, still miss doing it now. Especially if its a shoot where you get a beaters day at the end of the season. Cracking times. Would have done it for free. The going rate must have gone up a bit I used to get a tenner never mind £25. The xmas beat was always the best Sloe gin all round at snap time. Matt

    I am more than happy with the loft suits me to be in there to be honest was just concerned about securing to the joists but have found these SPAX screws 10mm thick 120mm long should secure well enough

    thanks chaps regarding the gable ends its chip board but not really sure whats behind it whether is brick or plaster. will have to drill a test hole through to see. thanks again

    Hi, First post. When I had my SGC granted initially I declared that I had no intention of storing guns at home. This has now changed but was after some advice. I live in a new build house that has very little brick in its structure. My local FEO indicated that installing the cabinet in the loft secured to the rafters. What would in your opinions be the best methods for acheiving this obviously the rafters being wood not concrete/brick. Cheers
