  1. Hi! Can't comment on the course but I do know one of the Falconers there! As for choice of bird? Steer clear of a female and go for a male. This is because they tend to be easier to handle and less tempremental than the females. males can and will take anything a female can, upto BUT excluding a hare! Hope this helps. PLEASE make sure that you have done a course OR gained sufficient experience with a good falconry mentor and have ALL your equipment in place BEFORE you get a bird!! Hope this helps? good luck!
  2. I am thinking of getting into falconry I have found myself a course at a reasonable price. Could u please have a look at this link a tell me if you think it is a good course to begin falconry http://www.northumberland-falconry.com/section89963.html? And also do u need a licence of any sort to own a female harris hawk and do u think this is a good starter bird. If possible could any reply with an estimated guess on how much a female harris hawk and all of the equipment will cost? I already own a large avairy attached to a shed will this be a suitable home for the hawk.
