    hello everyone dont know if anyone has lost a harris near here but we keep seeing one often sat on lamppost in this area in same spot, got jesses on. Been there occassionally for a while now, if anyone has lost one in this are let me know and ill tell you where we see it exactly.

     

    i dont know my birds well but im pretty sure its a harris.

    the levels do drop in the summer but thats no different to every res that feeds a cities water demand the water levels last year held good while the pike spawned. the bigest problem the pike face is the robbing poaching foreign fuckers that still think there at home and can take what they like. the pike season starts a week after the trout season finishes and runs right through till march. unfortunatly for some the pike fishing is run on a season ticket basis only thats mainly because of time restraints of the manager and the baliffs during the winter its a big maintainance job to get all the boats and all the other equiptment cleaned and stored ready for the following year.

    fly fishing is on day ticket, season ticket, half day ticket, and full and half day sporting tickets.

    im confused you said there are plans to allow piing year round but your saying now only until march. i agree with the above poster it would be much better not allowing it all year it doesnt do the pike any good to be honest same as too much pressure, would be nice to see a pike day ticket just through the right season

    Nah not eaten one, dont think id like to either lol!

    nice fish,it taste like crap loads of bones,stick with sea fish for tea :thumbs:

     

    i had it when i was young infact twice first was nice out of a river second out a lake was muddy as hell tasting, have to soak them overnight in a bath of salt water. wouldnt bother now though, i have heard zander are a tasty treat though!

    Good on ya mate. Which insurer do you use?

     

    petplan, its expensive but they pay the vets direct.

     

    and yes they do seem to put price up for insurance claims, not right really but what can you do?

     

    Stay with petplan mate, especially with a running dog where you can get a lot of nasty leg breaks and bone injuries........i had a dog break its leg once and was able to just have her refferred to Noel Fitzpatrick with no questions asked and they paid direct too.

     

    Its the way forward........hope your dog has a speedy recovery.

    wow that is good. suppose you get what you pay for, last month i was considering stopping it as i have only ever used it on 100-200 quid bills before and with a 90 quid excess hardly seemed worth it but so glad i didnt.

    got my lad back from the vets last night, long story short he wasnt seeming well for few days, vomiting a bit, generally down, off his food but eating a little, vet said take him home give him some meds, i insisted they did more as he really isn't himself and i know my dog something was real wrong.

     

    x ray revealed a blockage of some sort in the stomach so in for surgery and the lad was touch and go obviously was weak due to not eating enough. and the little sods swallowed a plastic lid, looks like its off some yoghurt or cream pot. anyway vets bill was £1005.39 f**k me so glad i got him insured.

    Like has been said, sometimes you have to accept you have an out and out killer on the end of the lead, and need to treat it accordingly. Now most of the time that all well and good, cos the man holding the lead knows what he got, and why he got it, and handles it accordingly. Sometimes though, just some bloke end up with one, and it usually goes tits up. As has been said, if the dog is worked a lot, or not worked enough, and knows xactly what its job is and what you expect, sometimes (often) they find it difficult to grasp the difference between work and leisure time, and may not have any concept of the latter.

    hello ideation i put a photo on here ov a bullx with a harness on the reason why its harnessed up is it goes ape shit to kill other dogs who it doesnt know or doesnt work with.hes contstantly on a strong lead and got some power now me mate was walking this dog as it was just going dark and three lads with a staffy type pit which was of the the lead looking rather agressive tail up looking like it wanted a fight.me mate shouts is that dog sound lads ye hes sound the lads start laughing its only a lurcher .it starts running towards me mates dog so me mate tries to pull his dog up on its back legs exposing its under side the pit x gets a grip but me mates bull x which has seen a bit ov action shook the other dog of and contnued to savage the other dogs face locked on throwing the dog round like a toy and still wagging his tail the lads start screaming its killing me dog me mate said not bad for alurcher .ha ha :laugh: :laugh: :laugh::boogy:

     

    YEAH f*****g HILARIOUS THAT PAL, YOUR MATES DOG KILLS OTHER DOGS, ARENT YOU LOT BLOODY HARD! CANT WE BAN TITS LIKE THIS???

    It must of been a shit "pit" imo, I'm not bashing the Bullx I own one but a real bulldog isn't going to loose to a lurcher.

    if you read what i said numpty me mates dog was harnessed up as always he didnt and doesnt fight dogs so what was he suposed to do let his dog get ripped up

     

    If you read what i said NUMPTY! i said you!, not your mate, i disnt slate the owner oncer he gave the lads fair warning. im slating you for thinking its funny and a good thing. NUMPTY!

    this has been a interesting and really frustrating topic, i agree a lot about what has been said these arent the same as pet dogs, they are bred to kill other animals, in particular the bullx for a certain job and that is bound to affect them to a degree especially if another dog starts the fight, the problem being this dog knows how to finish it!

     

    my bullx is a lovely dog but i wouldnt trust him with an unknown dog off lead in a new situation ( but i wouldnt of with my mums old retriever either! only difference is the damage can be done quicker and to a much worse level!).

     

    all dogs can react differently in nw situation and its our job to realise that and handle accordingly

    not that quick or even same day, sound like testament to your handling and release skills if the fish is straight back on the feed, id imagine they would lay up and go off the feed after capture in the past.

     

    on a side note i caught the same carp four times last year out of our syndicate lake, was only caught one other time all year by one guy, must like me i guess, lol.
