    In N.I., all fireams except for VERY low powered air rifles and pistols are held on a FAC - there are no SGC there. That means that the rules on all shotguns, air rifles and bullet firing rifles are the same as they are in the rest ofthe UK for FAC weapons. In GB, a certificate holder can borrow a shotgun for up to 72 hours without ANY paperwork of any kind, and of course you can do this as often as you like, provided that technically it returns to the possession of the certificate holder between each period of 72 hours.     So we can assume that there has been no amending of the rules, and you will be getting rights to all images entered, not just the prize winning photos? Also that you will be entitled to use the images in any way you see fit, including selling them to other publications, and using them for your own publicity with no payment or credit to the photographer? For the record, what we will have is only PERMISSION to use the photographs, if we wish, in the SACS magazine or for our display boards at fairs. We have never asked for

    Happy to update you all with some good news on the competition - there is now a prize for the best photo from a junior. I made a £20 bet with a friend last week that Sweetpea wouldn't be able to resist having yet another tantrum, won it of course, and I've donated it to the competition Who says I don't have a sense of humour?

    Sorry guys - maybe someone got the wrong end of the stick here - it's a genuine competition, intended for amateurs for a bit of fun, and that's all. The fact that we want to be able to use the pics in our magazine is made clear, and I think the kind of people who will enter the competition will be pleased by that thought. We don't want the sole copyright of these pics - just permission to use them them if they are good enough. Without that, we couldn't run the competition or even publish the winning pics.     Scottish Association for Country Sports Photographic Competition 2009 We know that some of our members are excellent photographers – but can they beat all-comers in open competition? We are proud to announce the launch our 2009 photographic competition – open to members and non-members alike. First Prize in the competition is £500, second prize £250, and third prize £100.     Hi Scouse - I can't comment on the others but SACS is the ONLY organisation to give all of our members not only public liability cover for ALL types of country sports but also the £100,000 legal fees insurance in case you get into trouble with police.
