hi, from what i've seen they tend to have some instinct to be honest. they need to be near by when you bolt some rabbits to get the idea of what is in the holes they are meant to mark. let the dog "get on" to a rabbit also. it is important only to praise the dog when a rabbit bolts from the hole that he has marked, not every time he marks, otherwise, they start marking for no reason.
when i was out on saturday, the dog had'nt really worked the rabbits before. he marked a warren, ferrets went down. nothing! no praise. Went on to some others, he seemed a bit more keen. bolted a rabbit from
well, a few weeks after getting my licence, i have now got my first gun. A nice Rizzini over under 12 bore. Single trigger , ejectors. Nothing too special, but it will do me for a few years.
Just gotta do a few clay lessons, then hopefully get some permission around the west mids, shropshire etc.
Had a look the other night, but looking at all the nice farm houses etc, i kinda bottled it when it came to going and knocking on the doors.
Any advice welcome. I was thinking about knocking up a few letters and putting them through the door / in the box?

hi, new to the forum. I've just got my shotgun license, and enjoy the odd bit of ferreting and rabbit shooting. Also ferral pigeons as part of the pest control job.
Hope to get half decent with the shotgun. any advice on any topic will always be greatly appreciated.
