  1. the vizsla and the weimaraner are a very similar type of hpr nd pretty much as closely related as ul get i work and keep both breeds.... so i guess i kinda qualify to give a little advice lol.... the weimaraner is quite late maturing... you never mentiond the age of the weimaraner you have?.some of the advice given so far is spot on get him into some training classes.do a little homework theres plenty of hpr training books and even dvd's out there...if you have a local shoot try and get in with the keeper find out about a day or two's beating go first without the dog and find a feel on how thi
  2. They are very very slow to mature.........try about 3 before it stops thinking it's a pup. As slow maturing dogs they need pretty high level protein for long than most pups. Join one of the breed clubs & go along to there training classes. Plenty about for HPR's will do mate thanks for reply

  4. hi there just joined yesterday and could do with some advise from you lot who from what i have read, about stuff. I go lamping with a friend of mine who has a great lurcher which i enjoy watching i myself have a very fit weim of 1 year he enjoys running with the learcher but as you lot know its not his game. I really would love to get into this hunting sport thing and get him working as he should but he has such a nervous bouncy excitable pesonality i dont no if i can. so my questions are what can i do with him, where can i do it and has anyone got any advise on
