    The 1 gr shift from 40 to 39 grains may be significant not merely due to the [minimal] weight differential, but as a result of a different bullet profile. My .243 krico [old fixed barrel series] does not perform very well [ but adequately ] with Federal Premium rounds with the 100 gr Sierra Game King Boat tailed soft points, but change to Federal Classics with a 100 grain flat based soft point bullet & the group sizes tighten up very nicely ! - I haven't home loaded as yet, but presumably further tweaking would be possible whilst still retaining the 100 grain bullet necessary [ in a legal

    Hi, I am a new member to the forum & am a keen fisherman, gameshot, wildfowler & deer stalker. I have just returned from a stalking trip to a piece of ground I & 3 others who all live in South Wales rent up in Northumbria & despite some fairly grotty weather was lucky & have a young Roe doe hanging in my garage. If I'd been looking the right way 5 seconds earlier the next day there would have been 2, but mustn't be greedy. I hope to get up a few more times this spring [before the midges reach plague proportions in late May/ June !] as in previous years work commitments
