Guilty as charged! I do have a set on my female Gos and also a braided loop leash now. Fenland George sells them (from another forum)but I got my latest from a girl called zoe in Somerset, her jesses and leashes are exellent. The one thing I would say about the jesses is when new (especially), the button end stands proud of the eylet and looks a bit wierd, but the hawk doesn't mind-so neither do I Jim

So I may have opened a can of worms then Millet? Jim

What's all that about? Are some people ashamed of their interest , or what? Have the courage of your conviction and stop hiding behind your computer! Jim(falconer and doesn't care who knows it)

Hi Tony, I must admit, rabbits are bread and butter on those hills Tony.I stalked a hare which tried to go uphill after 400yds before Maisie whacked it,she went in for a second go but was put off by a kessie stooping hard at her. Sitting tight as the kessie carried on it's attack, a covey of about 20 Englishmen broke directly beneath her! I picked her up and sat down for a breather. After a couple of minutes I got to my feet when a single partridge broke.Gos was off hell for leather after it.The partridge was so hard pressed it was 'piping' in panic. When I got to Gos she was sat atop a sma

Hi Tony, Steve. Here's a couple from the weekend, which i've decided to make my end of season too.Had a cracking slip at an Englishman which she decided to press to cover rather than catch, because of course, they're out of season She weighed way over 2lb 12oz and was slightly naughty but I pressed on till we got a kill, to end on a high and a feed up. Got back home Sunday night, put her out to weather yesterday with a rabbit leg to pull on, then she had a good bath and a nice afternoon in the sun. Cheers, Jim

Going down this coming weekend to have a couple more if the weather behaves itself! Jim

Other than that-i'm fine It was nice to introduce you boys to the delights of Sloe Gin. Cheers Millet, she is actually wearing an XLF trans cable tied to her tail mount. I don't have the leg bells on her anymore either.I get by ok with just the tailbell, which gives me a more accurate indication of her true weight. Jim

Hi Davy, I live in Norfolk now, but spent most of my formative years flying hawks and falcons on Salisbury Plain. My mate Martin,(a retired partridge keeper),still lives in Ludgershall and I often pop down to fly with him, Jim

Here's a couple of pics from earlier in the season. That's a hooge buck rabbit in cracking condition I must say.Looking back, they were all nice clean rabbits at that time of the season, whereas I do find the odd wet straggly looking thing from time to time now. Jim

The Pigeon shooter are out and about here now Jim! Its something I must get out and do this year with some steel shot for the Larder, I had some pigeoons Millet brought down last year which was handy so I must make the ffort and get out with the gun...... It will be 100% Sunday mate! I meant to ring Frank but last night was one of them nights here and I forgot, but sunday is a 100% a Go Go, the main plan is to walk up the landfill for some decent walked up flights and Ferreting on another day while Millets down , I'm off out today in the deep snow for a quick wander which should knacker me

Its refreshing to read a post like this mate these days . for some reason there's far to many people suffering with "Big Willy Syndrome" in this country...... cheers Jasper Hi guys, as someone with a huge willie already , when I bought my female I went for temprament over size. I must admit to having suffered with small male Gosses in the past.I had a club bird(BFC) back in the late 's that I took down to 15oz and he still dipped and rose to the top of trees! The German male before him was the average 1lb 6oz and he was mustard. My mate John flew a deadly German female at 2lb

Im not nearby but im alway's back and forth to that area and im sure i will have a few youngster's when the time is right..i dont sell them either unlike some of the greedy git's out there.. . Cheer's Millet When you come down Millet, bring a hob if you've a white one.I'll put him with my Jills and let you have as many of the young as you need.I don't sell either, I breed, keep back 2-3 jills and pass the rest on.I handle them while they're still pinkies as my jills are good as gold, they rear them and everyone handles the kits-I like them that way. I know what you mean about the Game season being over mate, but Sunday was the start of season for the guys who've got pidgeon/rook/crow etc to start!and they were going at it with a vengance all around me(but luckily quite far off). I'm really enjoying her at the moment Tony,i picked the calmest looking Hawk in the aviary when I went to Micks' and it really shows.I've been flying her at 2lb 10oz and although she's not fully in yarak, the minute i pop a ferret in a hole she fluffs up wags her tail, sticks one foot up and it's like-game on! She rarely misses to be fair, which you'de expect. If

The trouble with those spring clips is that they have a very tenuous link with the body or antenna of the transmitter in the first place.I have been known in the past to use a small (say 1") length of heat shrink tubing to hold them in place. This doen't account for the crappy length of curve that the clip has to hold it in the tube mounted on the tail though. If you're flying at quarry, they have been known to come out on contact.I tend to use a leg mount cap on the trans and double cable tie it onto the tail mount.
