  1. Hi all,

I'm currently a part time keeper running parts of a shoot . My current employement requires me to start at 3 pm in the afternoon.

I'm woundering does anyone also have to feed there birds/poults morning and just after mid day , and how do they get on with birds holding and wandering due to this early feed in the afternoon .

this is the only times i'm able to feed , early morning (6:30am-7am) and just after mid day (1:30pm-2pm).

any advice / people with same situation be great to hear from.

  2. haha sorry about that there lol .

And i see , i'll give that try . Today i tried her earlier this morning with ball , dummy, cold game and she just ran away scared a don't know if i've shouted at her to stop or leave at wrong time and put her off but i'll just have wait and see , hope all changes n get back to normal as she was one best dogs on my shoot for her age , gutted its all gone wrong . Going to see proffessional gundog trainer on friday to see what he thinks.

  3. Hi all , i'm writing this concerning my 11 month old golden retriever X coker bitch . Shes my first gundog and all was going brilliant until lately she refuses to retrieve any dummy, plain , covered with rabbit skin, pheasant skin etc... i've even just tried with a ball and she refuses . Soon as i throw the dummy and give command to retrieve she cowers down and runs back off to the house or if out back to my motor. Her training upto this was brilliant retrieving from launcher , dummies thrown or hidden. She even had few days picking up on my shoot over xmas and was brilliant. Whats gone wrong and were ? Can i fix this ? Or will she never do it again.

Any help would be great . PLease get back me , or if know anyone can talk to or see local let me know , i'm from County Durham.

    Thanks Gazza

Got her to were say find n shes running after when i throw and saying fetch as she finds it and picks it up and she's bringing it back to me few feet away, not too hand don't expect that much from her atm. Had her out couple times in last week and shot crows. n pigeons dead , she's running for them n getting there picking up a little n then putting back down but won't fetch back when i shout fetch . Anyone give me tips / stratergies to get her to pick up dead game n fetch it back just like dummy , i've never had retrieving dog so be great , i got her intending to use for bushing just rabbits but would love use her as some type gun dog if u call it that haha . any help would be great , don't no if anyone had terrier's / terrier cross's do same before .

  11. Hey all , at the moment i have been having idea of modifying/tuning my ratcatcher 22. airgun. I have just recently purchased a wooden stock i'm going to do some work on so can fit my ratcatcher in . I was just curious to see if anyone else has modified or got a tuned up ratcatcher , done projects on one or .... ? be good here from anyone who has and any pictures be even better :) thanks

  12. Thanks everyone for your opinions, i no there not the greatest but for my first go at it and knocked them up in a hour a didn't think they were too bad, and the tap is just try stop the cut ends of the wire from rusting its not holding anything together, just a cover really . All joits etc... are done with steal wiring and won't come loose trust me .

  13. I went down the local gun shop to get some fox snares , they were £3.50 a piece but still i bought 2 as well needed. But after having a look at them i thought i could have ago at making some myself with few lengths of wire from work , well spent a hour in the garage and i knocked 3 up. See what everyone thinks , going to try them this week at somepoint .
