adrian is a personal friend of mine he was a hunt terrierman for the crawley horsham then moved onto whipper in and onto the chiddingfold and leaconfeild hunt as huntsman he has done a brilliant job with them hounds walking throu the fallow in the park with the calfs runing around with the hounds
it was a different story when mr whaley was hunting them 
.adrian had his own pack of bassets hounds when he was hunt terrierman and we use to do fox drives at weekends and he had them 100% aswell fair play to him he has done hunting a great favour not looking for an arguement but didnt Mr Whaley do a lot to steady the hounds... after years of them running a little wild...
not taking anything away form sage though.. he is very very good...

Thanks for the replys. I have put them all together and they seem fine. The kits were already starting to eat meat so hopefully that will help the jill.

I have two jills both gave birth to kits 4 weeks ago now....
last night one of my the jills was perfectly happy and then out of the blue has died... totally gutted!!
The jills have been raising their kits seperately but have lived together all their lives. I put one kit of the dead jill in with the other jill and it looked like she was starting to mother the kit...
there are 10 kits all in all, 5 from both jills. what are people opinions...

Deffinately hemp for me....
I have both Nylon and Hemp in different sizes, but I think the best by far is 4ft hemp.
they just don't get tangled like the others....

Used to do a lot before the ban. Of course wouldn't do It anymore.... ;-)

Just wondering if there are any packs out hunting...
we are in south oxfordshire and havn't been out for nearly 2 weeks

Scent was interesting in the south east...
We were hunting downland and each field was totally different, one field they flew the next they couldn't do anything. And it was all grass...

A beagle hunts through it's nose and scent. Traditionally they would hunt hares in a pack. IMHO it would not be great for ferreting because they speak on the line and would be very noisy and not quick enough to course a rabbit. Hope this is useful.
If for bushing though I would say that a beagle would be a great dog for you or maybe a beagle cross

We were just given a large farm(1000acres) as permission. have not even been to it yet but it is now meant to be riddled with myxy. After being told they were all in nice shallow sets and that there were loads of them.
Only slightly annoyed.

I am quite new to this... I have now had my 2 jills for a year but both of their tails have gone nearly totally bald.
Is this just because they have come out of season? or what?
It would be great if anybody could help.

Went out last week to a new piece of permission. Unfortunately the cover was pretty high and I missed alot of the bolt holes. In all bolted 9 but only managed to net three. all in all not particularly successful but it is still early on.
got a couple of pictures but cannot work out how to post them....

Do a bit of bolting them with ferrets. Some people say that it is not a good idea because if they get beaten up it can put them of. but last time one of mine got biten on the face and it only put her of for that afternoon.... the next day she was ready to go again. this is only doing small places with around five rats a nest... I would not recommend it on big places. in my opinion that is.
