    Am thinking of buying the Lightforce Suction Base Extension Arm - has anybody used one before? i reckon it looks like the best thing out there for lamping alone? I am confused- do i need to buy the remote control handle and then which one 150mm or 220mm? any help/advice would be great!

    so if i already have a lightforce lamp can i just buy the mounting system or do i need an entire new light? which is best if i were to buy a new one? i see there are 3 different types of battery pack....

    I have never tried on foot as the car allows me to cover more ground. Do you not get nackered if you have to walk for miles every night?

    No worries about being nicked- car is parked on farm overnight and it looks like it would take about 5 seconds to take off if needed. that looks pretty good ian, do you know if i just attach the hand held lamp i have already to it? In the picture it looks as if the light has no handle and is perhaps specially adapted for that device?

    I am an avid fan of the .243, but I use it as an allrounder.. Ie fox and deer. (Roe mainly) I cant believe I'm actually saying this, but I would advise getting a bigger rifle than a .243 if you are setting your stall out for soley larger animals. The .243 will kill large deer with good shot placement, but if it were the mainstay of quarry.. Go bigger. It doesn't cost anymore to run a .308, than a .243, That would be my choice. It that is too big for you, my next choice would 6.5 x 55mm. There is a plethora of calibres, but why go exotic when one of the mainstream calibres will do the job pe

    why not just get a scope mounted lamp. Thought about this- if i can't find the right thing i may well use a scope mounted lamp. Just would rather not have anything else to get in the way. I would have to scan with the lamp not attached to the scope and attaching it again is another time waste and hassle which could be the difference in getting the fox or not! The answer to this is to have two lamps but then there starts to be quite a lot going on with wires etc!

    Have been doing a fair bit of fox lamping on my own just recently- from a vehicle. Use hand held torch to scan and then have a rubbish clulite strapped to an office desk lamp (bendy thing) fixed to a fishing rod holder! It has worked in the past but is not very good (flimsy and not that bright)! Does anyone know of a device where i can scan by hand and then snap the torch onto the car once i have seen a fox? I feel a one torch system would be less hassle.... It also needs to have some degree of movement once attached as well. Asking a lot i know, but any thoughts would help!

    I have a 22-250 for foxes and am now looking at getting a second rifle for deer (only UK deer). It is for fallow and perhaps the occasional red stag. I am thinking a .243 would be best as it is flat, accurate and has low recoil. Also, if after time the fox rifle needs replacing, i may use 243 for both. My worry here is that, as i shoot more fox than deer, i want the flattest, fastest bullet possible. If i use 243 for both in the future i would want to be loading lighter 55gr bullets in the 243 for fox but for deer would want 100gr. sometimes both will be shot on the same day so ch
