  1. some pics of the 2 I've got left, both bitches. The mum is in the pic next to the black one
  2. Thanks for all the replies, I've settled on not keeping one on to train because I agree about the time involved and the snobbery involved, even though I'm a big fan of crosses even I'd go for a pedigree with papers over an exact counterpart cross at the same price. But I'm going to keep one for myself I've got 3 left if anyone's interested I'll add some pics tomorrow
  3. def worth it if you have the time a good working sprocker should be no bother gotten rid of after as there is people that just work crosses. Thanks for the reply Yeh I want to know if it's worth my time tbh, I've got my eye on the one I'd use and want to make my mind up before he is sold. How much do you think I'd be able to charge for him once trained?
  4. Hi I've had a litter of Cocker X Springador pups (I know it's a weird cross but both parents are great workers and they make excellent dogs, I had the same mating a couple of years ago), both working parents, great looking pups. I had the litter hoping to sell them all to working homes but the 3 I've sold so far have gone as pets. They're 8 1/2 weeks old now. Do you think I could sell one easily if I fully trained it rather than selling it as a pup? How much would a fully trained cross go for? Any info would be appreciated Also, I know what this site is like so if you have any
  5. Pick a good spot where you can stay for a while without having to move, see how it goes with a dead rat near the bait, it you don't have any luck move it! I'll keep an eye on this thread for some tips as i'm in virtualy the same position, going to do a few sheds where I used to see a lot of rats. I normally just mouch around with the lamp on but i want to try baiting. Does anyone know how long do i need to bait for before i take the gun up? Japesy
  6. You managed to reduce the time you work by going self employed??Bloody hell well done!I used to enjoy my job! since i've gone self employed its becoming a chore! Catcher if I could work less hours and still pay the bills I would in a heartbeat, like you say...life's too short!atb with it
  7. Hi A friend of mine swears by labs, I'd agree with him that you can't go wrong with one. Having said that, I've got a Lab x Welsh Springer, she's a complete all rounder and she can work for hours and not tire, doing every job very well, even though she's a bit spoilt compared to some working dogs. She's been living indoors since I've had her from 8 weeks old and have found her very easy to train, very responsive, picking everything up very quickly from very early on. After teaching her the rules, she now lives by them, I leave all the doors inside my house open whenever I leave her a
