21 year old seeking underkeeper position.
I have a Level 3 National diploma Countryside management covering Estate maintenance, Game bird production etc. Hands on experience working unpaid alongside keepers, Feeding, releasing, catching, pen building, dogging in, pest control etc.
Shotgun cert held, looking to get my Fac although have good experience lamping with rifles etc.
Full driving licence held.
Mature, very hard working, keen to progress and be taken on as a full time underkeeper.
Derbyshire/Leicestershire area would be willing to move if room/caravan available.

Hi all, just got permission on over 1000 acres literally half a mile from my house, there are 4 rape fields all the rest other crop , There are hundreds of pigeons and every morning i see them on a certain rape field feeding heavily! Even in this snow i saw at least 400 on a certain field, I am having trouble on how to keep the big flocks coming in, i know they flock up at this time of year and it seems wherever the first bird goes the rest seem to follow. None coming in twos or threes,
Is there any tips you can give me on bringing in at least some of the flock in the decoys.? or is it just how the cookie crumbles at this times of year?

Cheers, i have set the trap opposite a very well used run, the door was down so i think something tripped or knocked it, [bANNED TEXT] tup with the air rifle for couple of hours managed 8 so not all bad,!!

Wat are peoples opinions on foxing whith single whippet bitch or dog (on the lamp) , I have tried researching but its hard to find preban info and pics.
Can it be done?
Preban i have slipped whippet bitch 2 year old at fox and she was game as anything just never actualy managed to make contact,
Have people ever experienced Single whippet on charlie?

Thanks for all the advice people! Will look into buying fibreglass type poles i think and maby one of the old boys who goes on the shoot will put me straight setting up! cheers, john

Recently gained permission on a pig farm that holds a good number of rats, ive found the holes running at the back of some hay bales alomg side of pig shed.
wanting to set live catch trap, tried a huge chunk of peanut butter with the cage alongside a nearby hay bail but they seem weary to go near the bait as its now been 2 days untouched,
Any tips on trapping in farmyards. baits? position ? ect advice would help , Will get some photos [bANNED TEXT] i go up and check today of position ect,

Hi all,
Went to pick some purse nets up and lad gave me a 50yard long net for free
, the bisley type (red nylon), just wondering wat i can use for poles or can i bye poles?Also how far along the net do the poles need to be spaced?
And is the bottom of net pegged and if so wat pegs? and how far spaced apart.
Any advice would help,

Hi all, wouldn't mind having a go at making some pursenets, just as a hobby really. Could someone recommend somewhere to order some good quality nylon for the mesh and let me know wat I should order for the drawstring? And wat size needle would be arite for sowing 1m purse nets? Thanks atb John .
