  1. Dont ban him please, the more he goes on its clear he has a problem with me personally and along his way hes managing to alienate many other people with his arrogance and insults, so he actually achieves the opposite to his intended mission!!

As this thread has progressed his insults and asides are becoming more personal but I personally find them very amusing as it indicates that whatever I have done to upset him is in fact succeeding beyond my expectations.

GP is just a saddo with delusions of status and effect far beyond his limited means and talent - I have been insulted by far better people than he -but they at least had the balls to do it face to face rather than hide behind yet another identity.

  2. He pestered Guntrader Forum except some of the guys there sussed out who he was and where he lived- Hitchin herts. He made all sorts of threats and then crapped himself when they informed him they knew where he lived, gave his street address too.

This one is similar but may be a House Karl, Grant assisted or some jerky from another shooting forum.

Who cares the mans an elitist, arrogant fool!!

  3. Dont worry Richie, its me he doesnt like, no doubt the antis are rubbing their hands in glee at how he attempts to disrupt us who actually do work in the country and enjoy all country pursuits, no snobs here, would be so nice to put a face and real name and meet him in person, never going to happen is it.

With characters like GP trying to reinforce class divisions with their comparisons is so outdated.

  4. This thread now seems to be nothing more than a PERSONAL attack on me by someone hiding behind another pseudonym, who seems to be rather bitter and vindictive, and also seems to follow me around from forum to forum.

Sadly in the majority of cases his posting seems to achieve little as most people wonder just exactly what it is that I have done to upset him, and many of those know me personally, having met me whilst I travel around from shoot to shoot, can see that his gripe seems to be all consuming.

Ah well, life is a bitch, like GP perhaps.

  5. statistics and damned statistics- meaningless really, how many are read avidly by the readership i wonder and there is some discontent at Shooting Times editorial style and perceived censorship.

How can you assess readership accurately? sales are easy but readers? - and how many read the magazines thoroughly?

If you referred to BB as a gent he would fall over laughing, it was rumoured that at one time the whole of gloucestershire was deemed under his permission!! (That from one of his many cousins, now an MP and previously heading a countryside organisation of some repute, who also had to tolerate my wit and repartee when i chauffeured him around one boxing day at the shoot.

  6. Please note I am not continuing any perceived NOBS/PUBS argument, there are links to NOBS on all my forums, what I object to is the patronising references to hard working people who enjoy legal countryside pursuits different to shooting.

Countrymans Weekly, or Poachers News as GP would have it, is an excellent periodical, and in my opinion appeals to a far wider audience than many so called top periodicals, favoured by him.

Long dogs, sight hounds any breed of gundog - all fit for purpose - then we use them or lose them - to see them doing their job is fantastic. Who cares whether the handler/owner is lord or lady or a country bumpkin such as me.

One of my local shoots was run by a retired major. the most consumate all round field sportsman I have ever had the priviliege to count as a friend, he died the morning after a day on the Test - but he luxuriated in any form of countryside sport, loved long dogs, shot, fished for everything, caught signal crayfish from the stream by his house and delighted in eating anything he caught, indeed some that he poached!!

His memorial service overflowed the church - three previous keepers, myself and another beater or two, turned out in best tweeds, boots polished, the only concession was black tie, and yes I took one of my dogs.

Attending that service were lords and ladies, past high sherrif of the county, gentlemen, ladies but also many from all walks of life who genuinely mourned his passing, he treated all the same, that is how we should treat each other in life forgetting petty squabbles and one upmanship which only serves to waste time and make one look a total prat.

  7. As far as I am concerned there is no NOBS/PUBS split, in fact there is a link to NOBS on PuBS and Greek Phil has stated that he has never been a member of either, so I dont really understand why he seems to view me in such a negative light!

NOBS and PuBS endeavour to get more people involved in shoorting sports, one charges fees the other does not, simples really.

I just happen to also enjoy seeing dogs of all sorts doing the job they were bred for,, within legal constraints of course, and I read all sorts of literature and magazines related to those sports and I do not seek to differentiate between any sort of people - gentlemen and peasant are born into this world the same way after all.

  8. I am just wondering what such a snob is doing on this forum anyway.

I read the Field, and Countrymans Weekly,Shooting Times etc al.

I appreciate dogs of all kinds, if fit for purpose, long dogs, sight hounds etc, and there are still legal prey species for them to be used on, gundogs including HPRS and the usual labs, spaniels, setters, pointers, etc etc. To see a dog , which has been bred for a purpose over centuries, doing its job, irrespective of what that job is, is imho a wonderful sight.

Take people as you find them, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm then state that the owner of a bespoke pair of guns are mostly gentlemen.

    No such being.

Men of all sorts shoot and hunt, I enjoy the company of lords etc as much as the company of a local peasant such as me.

I dont believe that the numbers of long dogs are diminishing at all in fact locally I see more and more, some are working dogs.

I do detect the public school boy class distinction mind set, not me I went to a good school - very good it was "Approved"

  9. That sounds like jerky or someone from another site commenting now. How patronising you are, first disparaging the Field and then, perhaps to show how even handed you are, Countrymans Weekly.

Unlike a snob like you I have attended Earth Dog Running Dog in Derbyshire, salt of the earth people, even if a few are somewhat rough around the edges, and I bet they all read Countrymans Weekly as do I when I can get it.

They are particpants in countryside sports, whether you care to acknowledge them or not, and they far outnumber those with bespoke English guns and I for one do not wish them to stop.

They are part of our countryside, do invaluable work, and even if they nick the odd bird or fur here and there are much preferred to the semi professional gangs we get round here by all the keepers I know, as they dont like others on their local patch.

  10. on the contrary greek phil i do believe you have!!

anyway im getting on with sorting out my own life and letting the beaters get on with beating.

did anyone read the Field this month apparently gentlemen are now becoming beaters!! The article is just an outdated opinonated ramble trying to reinforce the class system, where i beat everyone is an equal on board the wagon, no distinctions, and we have retired gps, barristers, civil servants, military et al all beating and all enjoying the craic - thats what beating is about. the author describes a beaters flag made with 4x2 - id like to see even Geoff capes wave that for long, full of inaccuracies too, demotes the CEO of NOBS, and gives a lot of incorrect information

I would have thought that the Editor of a top range country magazine would have been more aware,or employed better proof readers and researchers.

  11. Funny how I get messages asking what I know about you Greek Phil seems you are getting a reputation as a troll on other forums.

"Just because its free" etc, well doesnt matter if it works or not does it - people dont pay and if they get nothing then so what, if they do pay and get nothing then that is cause for concern surely?

It works - yes it does ask willow on shooting uk, how many testimonials do you want, just check on NOBS forum to see - oh sorry you cant unless you pay!!

I shall not reply to anymore of your idiotic ramblings being far too busy to try and reason with the demented

  12. thats ok [bANNED TEXT] you can cuss me as much as you like, compared to most keepers its mild!! he follows me around slagging me off all the time, shows great intelligence as all he does it publicise the matter.

I am looking forward to the new season beating and picking up, am training up two new dogs- got 7 inc a pup, got more important things to do.

unlike greek phil, I actually do work dogs, love earth dog running dog, all working dogs in fact- within the bounds of the law of course!!

Actually cos Im a fat and idle git I just let people link on PuBS forum - no need for me to do owt and its free and it works.

  13. Accounts are not published but are available at Companies House for a fee - or from getitorfyerchest forum - which has regular visits from media such as IPC according to the tracking data.

Directors minutes have never been published

NOBS has failed according to your assessment - I am therefore much saddened at the frittering away of a potential valuable resource for the shooting community and one to which many have devoted a lot of time and their own money in supporting.

Saddened also that many of the original and very experienced people who supported it were alienated by the management, those people being the very ones who should have been encouraged to ensure its success through their contacts and public awareness.
