    My dog is being fed Burns is that recommended? I want to feed him "named igedients" not 4% protein - whatever that is. I feed him a bag of bones per week too, often lamb bones, but sometimes beef. He eats all the lamb bones. Is this what you would consider a balanced diet, he doesn't actually work at the moment but I cover several miles a day with him. advice please thanks Carrie

    Hi all, I am a complete newbie to the forum, I have a wonderful dog (Syd) who is 1/2 scottish deehound and !/2 collie cross greyhound (pic eventually) He is now 14 months old and still whole. Unfortunatley he had an argument with some barbed wire recently it had to be stiched now just over a week ago. (and antibiotics). His scar is 2/3 inches long. A freind of mine's bitch has come into heat and we were intending to put them together. Syd spent about an hour with the bitch today (they got on well), but the vet said that he shouldn't be off the lead or jump around for 10 d

    Hi, I am a new member, I have a dog Syd who is a scottish deerhound X collieX greyhound, just over a year old. He is fairly obedient unless he is off the lead and distracted, by almost anything, so I have been experimenting with a remote training collar. I need him to be safe around stock, but we don't often meet any. He is generally very sociable and freindly, and quickly calms down when alllowed to interact with other dogs, although he is initially over enthusiastic.     Hi all, Thanks for your replies., Syd has got a long way to go in terms of obedience etc. I'd like to do a lot more milage with him before we do anything in earnest. So it being the end of the season is probably a good thing. He is Blooming fast though! We are experimenting with a training collar. I will post something on the running dogs section.     Hi all, I am not (yet) a hunter, but my dog is ( well would like to be). Syd my companion, is a deerhound lurcher, Dad a collie/greyhound cross, mum a scottish deerhound. He is just a little over one year old. Not teriffically obedient, but coming on. We live in Wiltshire UK. I hope to learn a lot, and would like my dog to have the chance to fullfil his natural instincts. I feed him bones, Burns, and he naturally likes to eat shit. We love to walk (run).
