i got a real compound bow right it has a draw weight of 60lbs but because of the drag isnt as much as a crossbow because the surface the bolt goes over when it is fired it can kill anything at up to 60 yards at 60lb but i reckon the 120lb one would drop a rabbit piss mate, and i reckon you could take a dear if you place the shot right, go on ebay and buy broadheads for the arrows your arrow should be able to take them if the bow is firing at 120lbs what size bolts do you have ?
yah it would take a rabbit piece of piss but for sevarel reasons i dont hunt with it its cumbersome its for close range shooting and its illegal i think it would deffo drop a deer with shot placement but i think rifles are better for that particular job dont you ?
Depends mate, I'd reckon he's talking metaphorically. People hunt with bows all over the world, there was a thread on a bear dropped with a bow on here a while back. To say rifles are better is like saying that a ferret is better than a lurcher/air rifle/shotgun/whatever. Different tools to do the same job.
lol thats just my opinion mate i think fifle reduce the risk of wounded deer much more i know people hunt with bows ive seen em in action and there bloody good at there job but imo there are more humaner ways of hunting

The Harkila sack is the best shag
Lacks a bit of space to take my Red`s though

hi all just wonderin in your experiance are flock coated decoys better than plastic ?
Plastics tend to shine a lot if they get wet........so flock are better. But best of all (and i have always done it) is to use the real thing.......! I always keep 8-12 of the best pigeons from a previous shoot to use as deeks. Better than anything i find, and i always snip off one of the legs of each of the frozen birds so i know which are the fresh ones after a shoot
Rolfe.
lol i use to do that but then i havent been decoying in a couple of years as the person i used to go with sold all his gear so im starting from scratch ill probabley buy some of them flock shell ones to start of with. do you know a way to make some quick cheap cradles ? cheers fbc

ah right we were right.....was told it would give the dogs the runs!
venison will give your dogs the runs if they arnt used to it.mix it with fatty foods as venison has very little ft on it.

cheers lads holdaway do you know were i could pickup this dvd please ? its a shame all my mk 6 are in use one a railway embankment at the mo and i wanted to start trapping them before they started breeding.anyone know were i can pickup some mink wires to start practising with please ?Snaring mink takes a lot of practice ferret boy. If I was you I would PM snareman or woodga, I think both have done a lot of mink control. I have a dvd that snareman made a while back showing how he snares mink, but I can't post his info without his permission.Another way would be to get some body grips or fenns in cubbies on fallen trees etc as they cross the stream or river, and also those trees that have fallen and lay along the bank beside the river.
All the best

hi guys im new to trapping mink is there any tips u could give me as iv been asked to sort out 2 mink that are devastating my local carp lake
for starters mate use mk 6 fenns or bodygrips and makesure its not otters before you start trapping and do some recce trips about with a 22 airifle or shotty if you have one and see if you can get a couple that way.and i would reccomend a couple of cage traps also. ive started trapping mink wo now.

thats the problem,i havnt got anything to dispatch it with, not humanely.thats why the snares seemed to be a good option. i know what your saying about not being able to totaly get rid of em,its heaving with em round here.
if its in your garden mate then you will probabley have to dipatch it mate . . . try the electric fencing

im gonna be getting chickens sometime next week and was wondering about what measures to take against the fox which comes into the garden. can i set snares as i know the route it takes? theres no cats around.cheers.
id also think about electrc fencing too mate.you will never kill all of the foxes. have you got something to dispatch it with ?

Oh well another bunch who in 6 months time will be whining on how their dogs were confiscated by police and rspca scum for hare coursing. You want bragging rights do it over a messenger ..a public forum FFS where paranoia abounds (example is what bullx is your dog) and where anyone can read ..think before you drink and post
i understand what your saying but although hare coursing may be illegal talking about it isnt.
