  1. hi all my 3 month old pup has all of a sudden started to get agressive when any one or thing goes near her while she eats. she has never done this before and came out of the blue. has any one got any advice or tips for me to stop this as i have three small kiddies and DONT want to get the pup re-homed OR SEE THE KIDS BITTEN

    what cross is it mate

  2. Ive got a two year old polecat jill that does not seem interested in ferreting at all. When i put her to ground she either turns round and comes back out the same hole or just pops up at every hole. I know that there are rabbits at home because they bolt when i put my other jill down. The worst problem is that when its time to move on and my patients has been exhausted by her, she wont come out of the holes!!

I keep giving her a go everyday that we go because i know she wont learn anything in the box but im wondering if there is anything that i am doing wrong. She doesnt eat raw meat at all, just not interested in it and im wondering whether this is playing a part? She also will not rag a dead rabbit in the same way my other ferrets do?

Any advice would be much appreciated

    Thanks

f**k her off then mate and get one that works give the other one to someone as a pet

  3. Hi All ...

Was out ferreting in the snow yesterday and my locator broke.

Its a MK1 and basically, the dial on the side snapped through the middle (Possably got brittle in the cold).

Now i know its an easy fix and it will be fixed. Plenty of nackered ones on ebay with the dials intact.

But my question is, my birthdays coming up and was wondering about asking for a mk3?

Now iv never used a mk3 and was wondering if people could give me there opinions on them as i know alot still prefer the good old trusty MK1.

    Thanks in advance,

    Andy.

ive got two mrk 1s in good working order if you get stuck mate

  4. I'm trying to figure out the lingo and would like a bit of help. I'm American and new to ferreting so please be kind. Can you tell me what the following words mean?

    Fen hare

    Fen dog

    barmaid

and sometimes after someone shows a picture there are letters, I'm assuming they stand for something?

I know there are plenty more so if you can tell me the meaning of any words you think I might not know I'd like to see them.

    Thanks all

fen hare = touble, crabbers idiots non believers and jealousy,

fen dog = trouble, crabbers idiots ,non believers and jealousy

barmaid = trouble cabbers idiots ,non beliievers and jealousy

thats what all these three words will fetch you...so if you run the fen hare with a fen dog and your

knocking your local barmaid off ...just keep it to yourself ..because it dont half fetch the dickheads

out of the closet if you mention any of these three .....hope this helps....snoop...

shut the f**k up u idiot

  5. Hi, I hope everyone is enjoying the weather. shame it's a bit hard to run the dogs my way. Quick question, how many ferrets do you work in ration to how many holes there are. I only ask after having a little think that someone must have worked out a good ratio. I know it also depends on how deep the burrow is etc, but just want to get a rough idea of weather people flood the warren with ferrets or not?

  7. Sad to say, ive lost my old dog Paddy. Had to retire him early after he did his leg in while out lamping, his other leg went after some time and he couldnt get up. Gutted but i had to have him put to sleep. He was a good age, and quite possibly the best worker ive had. I wasnt going to put anything on here as i dont really want idiots posting abuse about him but after having a few boys on here asking to use him at stud i thought it best to let people know. Im gutted, not only have i lost an awesome worker... ive lost a good friend. He was one hell of a dog, and there wont be another one like him. R.I.P. Big Man.

  8. Hi lads. Was reading the Hancock thread when Undi came up with a good reply.I agree with him.No one can guarantee a pup will work.We all know you cant polish a turd. You breed of a good proven line.Been there. But would you guarantee a pup.And if so for how long.atb. Catcher. On working ability.

you cant guarantee anything even two champions dont make a champion so how any one can guarantee a pup il never know

  9. I don't own any collars and have never used them, I have two hobs and two jills. I'm wondering if jills are better to work without collars due to being smaller and there-for less likely to make a kill and laying up? or do they kill and lay up as much, or even more than hobs?, cheers

mate i have collars but dont use them ive got grahound polecats there really small and they dont kill if they cant shift them up a block end they come away that just the way i like it atb
