  1. A very smart lookin black terrier it is too! Very much of the type around today.

1947 - This photo pre-dates Brey & Bucks blacks by some years, Plummers fell terrier (a reliable source of info dispite what many think of him now!) states that their blacks only appeared in the 50's and were very much a new type and not just in the Lakes. Could be a bit of photo terrier history there. :hmm:

Just bin on to me sister for correct details, mother was born 1943 and she is sat in front, she was 7years. That makes the photo 1950. Pit village in Derbyshire

great them old pics shame the breeding ant on the back of pic
  2. A few weeks ago I put up some pics of two newborn plummer pups - well they've grown quite a lot since then. The second pup has now gone to her new home, to the owner of her sire.

  3. now this should get a few people going!!

i am looking for advice and a few ideas on fitness training for lurchers. i have many pals in the lurcher world who have many ideas on how you should condition your dog. one of my friends trots his dogs fit behind a quad for about 4/5 miles a day, another sprints his behind the truck. on the other hand others just walk their dog and lamp fit. now i try to do a bit of both when i have time. feeding is another subject i woulld like to toutch on. do you feed just flesh, flesh with biscuit or the compleat diet?

there seem to be so many diffrent combinations which canmake it quite confusing which one to go for so any added advice from real experienced REAL dog men would be very helpful.

ps. electrolites and greyhound raceing suplements do they make a diffrence?

Thanks. :victory:hi mate there is a book called the greyhound trainer by h montagu-harrison read that and youved got it regs steveuk

  6. Run my bitch last week, noticed her lame on back toe. Have been washing it regular in tcp and salty water, noticed a tiny cut to the side of her nail, had her out for a spin today noticed it tender - Squeezed it and a little pus and blood came from it , which leads me to believe she has something in her nail bed, anyone any ideas of how to get this out?

  8. Got a litter due next week and want them docked. Unfortunately with all this crap with the laws it is SOOO hard to find a vet that will do it with a certificate.

Found one locally but they want £80 a pup(does incl chip)!!! My vet said they'd only do spaniels-don't see why terriers need to be docked :angry::blink: and every other vet I speak to it seems like you mention the ''forbidden word''

    Can anyone help???

    p m sent mate
