    Yeah for sure. I think it was the same village that recently the same thing happened at a school, and the wife was telling me yesterday someone had a deer head on a spike turn up in a front garden. Bloody midsummer murders around here 😂

  3. Snipped hob needed

    Evening all,

    just went out this evening to check on the weasels and one is showing signs of coming into season. The two I have are last years kits so haven’t managed to get a snipped hob of my own yet still waiting on the local ferret club to finish up on my membership before I can see if they have one to use. 
    would anyone near Salisbury have a hob available?

  7. Newby wanting shotgun app advice

    Evening all,

    I’ve been thinking about getting a shotgun certificate. I got talking to my local keeper and he’s asked if I want to help out beating when the season comes around again, also having done clay shooting a few times for work events and really enjoyed myself I wanted to take up the sport. The problem is on the guidelines it’s stating I need a good reason to own the gun including any permissions or clubs I’m a member of. Obviously just wanting to start up I’m not a member anywhere or have any permissions yet, any advice on what I can put down? I was going to go to the local ground to get some instruction sessions and put that on the application but I don’t know if that will be enough to show I’m interested in getting into the sport and not just some nut that wants one for the sake of it or the apocalypse 😂

    Thanks for the replies! I’ve had a play with some TBG and GZK as well as some cheap Chinese latex bands with tiny pouches which I thought were actually ok for a bit of plinking but seemed to shoot pretty slow. I’ll check out the other recommendations for sure.

    Evening all,

    Where is everyone getting their bands from these days? I’m only just migrating over to flats from looped 1745’s and feel very late to the party! I’ve seen loads on eBay by Gamekeeper John but wanted to see what everyone else is doing too.
