  1. Have you hunted boar with dogs before? Do you have any direct experience? Do you know mushroom? Mushroom is not Spanish. Not all Spanish hunting dogs are mistreated, but well done for believing the national stereotype peddled by antis... My novice English dogs are going on their 2nd boar hunting trip. They learnt lot last time and will learn even more this time. All dogs, even Spanish ones, start out as novices. The only way a dog will learn is through experience, as they are not capable of reflection or imitation, they can only learn through experience. DO not know '' mushr
  2. YER well '' seen'' how spanish dogs get treated , And I Know you might fine it hard to understand not being normal over there , most uk dogs are ... ''treated '' well ''Lmao '' ie like fed more then once a week, and if injured sorted by a ''VET '' Not a sharp knife to the Throat ,,just pointing out to our lads Boar Can be '' rriskey '' Don,t get me Wong matey SPANISH Hunting dogs are well accustom to this job , could bit different for ours
  3. mmm No guns boar hunting just dogs , no boar killed then :hmm:just one or two dogs in for a surprise well ok I don't understand what you are getting at? I think it's a insinuation that fire arms will be used...................................... NO is not , to take a rifle steps need to be in place , so can see that's not happening , shooting boar costs £££ large wild boar Tend to be rather Dangerous at best hard to kill when bitten by a dog there skins are very thick so they just get very pissed off and That,s when things can

  5. 303 for DEER very ????? Expanding ammo if you can get 150 gn sp £30 FOR 20 and a ''rifle '' very hard to find any FEO that has suggested or even agreed with this well
  6. 303 and were are we getting the expending ammunition from and at what cost surely must mean 308
  7. TOTALY Agree walshy but thinking this a novice ever had a centerfire rifle ? one learns to walk before one runs, 223 far Easyer to Master than a 243 WELL putting a 22rf or 1.7 HMR on a thumbnail yer fine , but a centerfire sitting prone standing sticks etc etc takes time and lots of practice even at short range (Point blank) up to 200meters '' For me '' one shot job well done and this includes charlie ... and for deer its a must,
  8. yes spot on well done , you how have gained the respect . of your FLO Makes things a lot easer in the long run
  9. I Would get the 223 if its your first center fire rifle Get to know how to use it , you can use for foxing and start off your deer stalking with muntjac or chinese water deer in England or roe deer in Scotland get some experience you will Also be earning Browne points with your local firearms department , ready to step up to 243 or whatever you fancy I Owen rifles 1,7 hmr up to 3006 but the ,270 gets used most , but Everyones different regards Eric shot with a 243 but shot placement needs to be bang on and ta
