  2. Can any falconary people give me a bit of advice please, I have fantail doves flying free and a hawk as begun taking them is there anyway I can deter it? Please dont tell me I should be priveleged to have a hawk in such close proximity,I realise hawks need to eat but I live in the country and there is no shortage of wild birds in the area any sensible advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  3. i misunderstood you, when you asked about work i thought you meant the work that the good lines of wheatens and glens excelled at and irish terriers and kerry blues failed miserably at.what does "working" mountain lion involve?also hunting rabbits and rats is not working,i would never call a dog like this a working terrier and anybody who does must know nothing of the true working terrier.you say i know nothing about them, well i have kept both wheatens and glens and my working dogs have glen and wheaten in the lines and i know that the irish terrier and kerry blue were never up to much, maybe ca
  4. Irish terriers were bred with a number of purposes in mind, instead of just one. These included rat hunting on land and in water, hunt hedgerows and catch rabbits in open, guard home against intruders etc. Hope this helps. I know what they were bred for as I have been brought up with Irish since my father had them before me.I just wanted to know if anyone else had experience of them, mine hunt hedges and catch the occasional rabbit its just that were I live we have lots of rats and I prefer hunting rats with them. Thanks for the reply though cheers

They havent been bred to work earths I agree but yes working rat is working thats what they were bred for originally. You obviouslt know nothing about them so why bother replying.I sold a pup a couple of years ago to a guy from California to work Mountain Lion and he tells me its doing the business for him you telling me that isnt work Dave

  8. Please vote for my Policy on Yahoos Peoples Policy Page.I placed my policy to bring back hunting and up to now it has got 27% support if we can bring it further up the leader board it will help our cause as I am sure these polls are monitored by the powers that be,and every little helps.I personally have an interest in hunting with dogs as I am sure many of you do and lets do everything in our power to get this ridiculous ban over turned. Just put peoples policies into your pc and vote. Thank you
