just started to take an interest but have done a bit of shooting and ferreting in the pass. just got my 1st lurchers from a good fella of here.
  1. Looked into the service dog europe, i think that the route we going to take as the dogs come from them at about 18months old fully trained and tailored to the childs need. finally got the Mrs to agree on a golden retriever or a cocker, all depends what they have at the training school. Next question is whats peoples thoughts on dog food, I've been looking into Beta Retriever dry mix, anyone had experience with this and how much do they eat roughly?
  2. just looked at service dog europe as suggested by danny300. think thats the route we gonna take just cos the training the dog goes threw to aid in helping the child. Thanks alot for all you advice and i think we will stay clear of any type of terrier. some top information gathered here.

  4. he likes the telly at home because we dont have any dogs yet, but when we go to any family members who have dogs he dont leave them alone, and we been told that dogs help alot with autism. so anything that makes his life happier the better.
  5. he loves them but can get abit aggressive with them. only problem we have is we only have a 2 bed house with a medium size garden and im at work from 5am most mornings so dog will have to be able to be ok on his own until mrs and boy get up and until she gets home from doing her bits and bobs, so the dog could end up on its own for few hours on his own.
  6. Thanks for all the great information guys, really appriate it. someone did mention foing to a rescue home, there is 1 10mins from me and me often pop in there to see whats about. and someone did mention about not a particular breed but letting my boy make the choice and i think thats going to be best thing. just hope its not a little ratty dog!!!
  7. Again same as some terriers, My Mrs old flat mate had a Black Lab and was a hand full, he was left in a flat most time on his own and was fed up and wanted to play, i have explain this to her but she not having none off it, but our 1st choice when when 1st looked into it few months ago was either cocker or king Charles spaniel, But i read somewhere that they dont like rough play.
  8. I read that they was good with children and can handle rough play and for some reason my boy has taken to terriers but my Mrs has been put off by most cos of the way she has seen others brought up. Also the are territorial so as i keep motorbikes they would hopefully alert me of any problems,
  9. Hi lads, been do some research into getting an dog for my son as he is on the autism spectrum, after a lot of research we have found that Irish Terrier is an ideal dog, although he will not be worked unfortunately but will be a pet and companion for my son. Has anyone had any experience wit this breed?? some more information from a owner/ former owner would be great. There's only so much you can read up on internet. Thanks in advance.
  10. here we got a 306 2000 plate 1.9 diesel estate non turbo, tax till end may tested till 12/06/12 not the best looking car, it is 12 years old, i used it mainly for work and fishing, air con dont work due to one the previouse owners had a incident in it, and ripped the aircon pipe off, never bothered me as its winter and i never use it. also from the same incient it effected the bumper which has been fix, now, but as i said not the prettiest car, but will do for someone for dogging, fishing, work or as a runner. only wanting £450 ono car is located in thurrock essex near m25 jct
  11. our local syndicate has is owned by Essex Wildlife Trust and it aint all bad to be honest, best thing they done is put a 6 week close season on the lake, only bad thing is we cant just do what we want with it, we have tyo go threw them for the approval, and you dont always get a warden/baliffe that fishish so they dont always under stand, so its bit off 50/50 if they get taken over by a trust, just depend on the head warden/baliffe
  12. sorry mate im after a bit more then that, hence hy its up for what it is, it would make a nice family car as well if it was tided up,
  13. Thurrock, not far from lakeside shopping centre, yea she done 2 season.
  14. hi gus for some reason i cant get on the live stock selling page, i aint been on THL for a while so not sure what to do, so hopfully if i post heer someone will be able to help. I have a 2 year old jill up for sale with about 20 hemp nets and a box, only wanting £25 no offers collected. reason i have to sell her is because ive had to move into a high rise block of flats and theres no where to keep her, she is currently round my mums but she wants her gone as she dont like ferrets. the ferret her self is rather friendly and has seen 2 season but due to me bracking my arm in october
  15. here we got a 306 2000 plate 1.9 diesel estate non turbo, tax and tested till june. not the best looking car, it is 12 years old, i used it mainly for work and fishing, but due to a broken arm i'm no longer able to afford to kept it till i get back to work. air con dont work due to one the previouse owners had a incident in it, and ripped the aircon pipe off, never bothered me as its winter and i never use it. also from the same incient it effected the bumper which has been fix, now, but as i said not the prettiest car, but will do for someone for dogging, fishing, work or as a runner.
