how do you teach a terrier to mark a used rabbit warren?

hi all, i have recently taken on a patterdale who is very keen, i usualy go beeting/shooting with labs but i took the pat and he just wanted to get hold of every bird and shake it, not good, so i would like to try him rattig, any tips on how to go about it, plenty of places to rat.
