  1. blog-0169040001350432921.jpgI know he could be a bit of this and bit of that, but maybe someone has 1 very like him and might have an idea what lines it might have?
  2. Not been doing much lately, just the odd bit of fishing & trying to knock the lurcher into some sort of shape ready for the upcoming season with some fitness & obedience training.

My beddy/whippet is 3 now, and what's become apparent is that he's severely lacking in the brain department! He still seems very puppyish and tends to overlook things in his excitement.

Well this upcoming season is his final chance as my first choice rabbiting dog. He needs to calm down when in the field & start taking direction from me when he's out. He won't be going anywhere, but if he hasn't shown marked improvement by seasons close, I will be looking to replace him with something else.

After being so frustrated by his lack of intelligence, I think my next choice will deffo have a healthy splash of collie somewhere in the mix....

    Watch this space.

I love meat. Im a carnivore (besides the odd apple) but Christmas brings a dilemma. You see I hate turkey, to me it is a bland tasteless meat so I must look elsewhere for my festive grub. I found it too: goose and duck. Fabulous meats and when cooked right can knock yer tastebuds into next week. I will add pics once completed.

  4. Last night was only the third time on my new permission, a huge farm about three miles away from from my house. I must admit it just seems to get better and better. Im currently writing a hunting book basically just following my adventures and me trying to grow and catch as much as I can to put in the pot. So I'm documenting everything I do and trying to learn as much as I can about the wonderfully world of hunting. So anyway last night was great. Myself and my two fellow hunters set out at 10pm and had arrived in no time. Like I say I am documenting my hunts for my book and also for a DVD Im making so my main job is cameraman/rabbit carrier although we swap around a lot and we don't always have the three members of the team. We all carry a lamp each and use the two dogs and I have the rifle. My lamp is a striker 170 and seems to do the job perfectly. I also have a small lamp on the top of my rifle. The first two fields we went into were rabbit free but the third proved to be a cracker, one lone huge rabbit sitting in the middle of the field. Tia was slipped and quickly caught up with the rabbit but this rabbit was fast it was weaving in and out and after a good long run Tia was getting tired, we thought we had lost our first rabbit of the night until that is Tia turns the rabbit and both rabbit and dog are hurtling towards us and more importantly towards Tia's hunting partner Ben. Tia was coursing her into Ben and just as the rabbit passed us, Ben was slipped and nailed it in seconds. It truly was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. Tia really was purposely steering the rabbit into Bens awaiting jaws. A few fieds latter Ben and Tia are both slipped on a lively looking bunny who we found jumping around like a crazed loon. Tia has the speed advantage over Ben but knows Ben has the power, she once again steered the rabbit into Ben and it was all over. Another six wher taken and at 3 am we called it a night or morning as the case may be. We headed back to my Friends house and had our usual 3:30 hunting night coffee. I have found a passion for hunting and always look forward to my Friday nights and more importantly look forward to the summer.

I will add some pics to my blog shortly. I'm writing this from my new iPad and struggling to come to grips with how to do everything.

Anyway untill next time, happy hunting

i am getting a brand new CO2 22 air rifle tomorrow the http://sportsmk.co.uk/item/363/ it is the cheapest CO2 rifle on sale. because i cant afford anything else if any of you have had one and it has done well or has broken instantly seeing as it is costing me £140 i expect it to last at least four years because it will take me that long to save for a new one. or if that is a really bad air rifle i will consider buying a http://sportsmk.co.uk/item/362/ if neither of these are a good idea then please tell me what is best for me, all that i am using it for is target and occasionally shooting small game such as wood pigeon, rabbit, pheasant or for pest control. also i am getting a new scope http://www.molevalleyfarmers.com/mvf/store/products/richter-scope-3-9x50-aoe it should be a good scope but for the money i am not so sure i do not really know that much about scopes as i have only had one for a few months but i let my friend use the rifle and he dropped it from twenty feet up a tree and bent the scope and i tried to bend it back but of course it snapped!!!. so seeing as i am going to be in debt to my dad for a week i would like it to be worth it, i have to borrow the money from my dad and earn it sweeping up a work site and i don't much want that if the air rifle is going to break or is inaccurate at long range so any answers to any of my questions would be greatly appreciated.

    .cheers. :signthankspin:
