best squirrel bait.

What bait is best for a live squirrel trap which I have put near my birdfeeder, at the moment i have bird food but sureely if they are weary of the trap then they will just climb the tree to get the bird food in the birdfeeder instead. Also do I need to hide the trap so the squirrels are not as wary?

why dont you remove the food from the bird feeder untill you catch the squirrel ?

peanuts maze peantu butter. that sort of thing. and you dont need to conceal the tap just put a brick at the back end.
