Paid 935
I must say it looks a lot better than the mk3, the collars look a lot more sturdy, and hopefully will not need wrapping in electrical tape. With good old leather collars too. Sure its bigger than the older mk3 collars, but they were flimsy, broke easy, and were a long way from water proof. Also the 394 batteries they run from are easyier to source than the 393's As a lot of hearing aids use the 394's It also has the magnetic switch, so you can collar up before leaving home, and save a bit of batterie power when there not to ground. The control box has a pin pointer dial, which should help those more used to the mk1 too. Seems Deben do listen, I'm sure Simon had some input, as all the common problems seem ironed out in this model. All in all, chuffed so far, can not wait till sunday to give it a whirl in the field. Anyone else using them, and know how water tight they are ? is it still worth a bit of electrical tape ? Thanks who ever off here runs North east fieldsports, fecking bargin price, and top knotch and fast servise Edited January 21, 2009 by Paid Quote Link to post

DDD 4
Mk3 locators do pick up the mk1 collar, not sure of accuracy though. Quote Link to post
shepp 2,285
I bought mine from North East too at sale price and was delivered using recorded delivery in less than 48 hours. Never used a ferret finder before and found it tricky to put the collars on them to start with but got the knack after a few goes. All in all happy with it. Shepp Quote Link to post

Paid 935
Cool, looking it at, it dont need taping, so I'll leave them as they are. Certainly seem a lot more rugged than the old mk3, were the side bits that hold the collar have snapped on me a few times. Quote Link to post
socks 32,253
been using the new collars for most of the season and there are a few things you need to be aware of .... the leather collars will stretch as they are a soft leather so half way through the day check them as they can easily slip off the ferrets head they are also very long so trim them down .... use the little magnetic tool to turn the collars on if you use the box i have found that the collars somehow turn themselves off .... make sure that you carry the box and the collars seperately incase it accidently turns the collars on/off ......... having said that the new set up is spot on for accuracy and i have dropped onto the ferrets head every single time i have dug ...........
