Tyla 3,179
My mate who i used to shoot with has just called. After a couple of years lapse he wants to take it up again. The only problem is that he sold his gun when he stopped using it Just to be difficult he is left handed and wants a .20 although he says he will settle for .177. So, what he wants is an ambi or l/handed, lightweight, single shot pneumatic rifle in .20 or .177. The obvious choice is a falcon but that would mean buying new unless anyone on here just so happens to have one laying about i've not bought a new airgun for years and am a bit out of touch so what is your advice? Very pointable, something really nice about them i am pretty sure he is after pneumatic though as he already has the bottle etc and has always used them. Any other options? They must have brought out some ambi guns in the last few years while i've been distracted? Quote Link to post
ghillies 209
if you buy a left hander two things will happen, first you'll pay a bit more, then if you sell they'll pay you less, so a double loss, get an ambi, if you have to carve a bit out on the ambi cheek... Quote Link to post
Timelord 0
Ambidextrous stocks are great because you can shoot both right and left when you get those awkward shots and you need to shoot form you other side... Quote Link to post

Thats good advice. Can anyone recommend an ambi .177 lightweight pcp? not off hand .. i use a rapid with a 400cc bottle on the front there, i find it light, but used to shoot with a daystate X2 with a 39 ons scope on top, before that a HW80, both are 'heavey'.. have a ganders on a few web sites see what's on in offering.. the hw100t is a doozey to use but 8.5 odd pounds in weight.. not light. hmm.. S200.. one stage trigger but well accurate.. bsa super ten.. falcons.. or those tiney ultra's that are around.. depends what shot count you want, regged gets a few more, drop the power to around 10.5fps you'll get a few more again without loosing much this side of 50 yards.. think 70-90 shots is usuall for the narmal thin type air cylinders on the pcp's, think the ultra's are between 30-40 shots depending on caliber and power.. my rapid does a good 400 shots in .177.. the standard factry jobby does about 300.. etc etc.. whats your needs? or more importantly what suits you or/and your likes...no point using it if you hate the thing. people think they need the full 11.9fp's.. truth is the gun shoots better at 11fp's to 10fp's.. allows more shots, but its the pellet match to the barrel and the power tune etc to that pellet, consistancy isnt that crutial at 30 yards..its everything at 50-55.. 60 even. couple years ago i was knocking head shots out at 55 in like the equivelent of 7-8 mill dots to the left winds at 10.4 somethin fp's... bare in mind i was camping the woods and putting a lot of effert into it.. knew the spots knew the wind tunnels etc... and knew the balistics on the gun.( yard plinking every day i was there for a warm up...a lot of effert with a good set up..).
