Dry ferret food

Recommended Posts

I feed raw twice a day but not in their hutch as I find they take meat bones into the nest box. know people that have lost ferrets to botulism, problems from food hidden in the nest box. But who knows for sure.

I have a run on the lawn with pipes and hammock and old carrying box. it's covered over the top with polly tunnel plastic. After the evening feed I put a hand full of Alpha kibbles in a bowl, never any left. The one thing I think kibbles is good for is there teeth, it seems to keep the plaque off their teeth. having a mix I think improves their stools as well, firmer not runny.

Everybody to their own but I think they live longer with some kibbles in their diet. I have one little gill that 11 in May, retired now sight going but sill eating well but cant eat the kibbles now. Every morning I wonder if she will still be with us. Hard to wake up sometimes Lol.

Cheers Arry

Tried them once on dry food they up ended the bowl  scattered it all over the floor and i thought when they are hungry they will eat it nope . I get stuff from 2 gamekeepers and at the end  of the shooting season i fill 3 freezers with pheasants and partridges to feed them all summer takes a bit more work than dry but its worth it

Same I feed raw all year long....usually rabbits...some hare and venison odd pigeon or peasant
