Well the loop hole that I was trying to utilise..... it seems we can't without moving away. We really want to stay here in this village SO we are still negotiating for the land and barns then look to build a plan to live on em, maybe rent our place out to cover mortgage while we get set up then if that works without us getting kicked off we can go all in. We are still planning on livestock this year, chickens, pigs, maybe goats, run a dozen turkeys for Xmas etc. Really interested in bee keeping aswell and twin that with veg/flower growing the bees can only help!

Careful how you go lads. Another thing to factor in. After a lifetime of sorting yourself and the young generation out the generation before can suddenly have an unforeseen impact on your plans when they need looking after . Just run for the hills as soon as you can

i would try and keep your house if i was you and rent it while your travelling ,then if it don't work out for you which is often the case or if you eventually get tired of it which again is often the reality for a lot of people you haven't burnt all your bridges and there's no better thing than bricks and mortar for an investment and time fly's as you get older you don't want to end up with f**k all and a battered camper ,just my thoughts

I understand what your saying..but I've had enough,I don't want no more weight around my neck,few more yrs and the  mortgage is payed off ,sell up,spend 60/80k on a new van chuck the kids 20 k each,go make their own way in life(20 k more than I ever started with)and the rest will go in the bank...when I want some beer money,I will do the odd days here and there ...we have family in the UK, Ireland and Europe so the plan is to kick back and travel around

I have an acquaintance whose wife writes steamy pornographic literature, mills and boon type X-rated stuff, for mature women, he illustrates the covers, do incredibly well from it. I was chatting to him last week, when the kids are off their hands they intend to travel, she can write on a beach or beside an infinity pool somewhere hot and enjoy life.I have met loads of people who say "I wish I had......." or "We should have....." (I have done it myself at times) but life really is transient, far too short for regrets, good luck with your future Dan.
