These are big nasty boars that are used time and time again to test the catch dogs . They are angry fuckers that know what is coming. They are ran in 15/20 acre enclosures with a mixture of swamp , fields and forest

The pup is going through a bit of a gangly stage . Stands about 17/18 tts now

They are only passed and certificated if they grab the boar by the head , ears or nose . 
This dog grabbed the nose and was the highest grading dog there. He went up against a number of different breeds , presa being the most common

Maybe some people would like a little pit for some hunting and sport stuff but like the idea of abit of coat aswell

been around a few(seen them lamped,bushing with other terriers ,picking up birds on a shoot and around a hole)...and found them no different to any other type that's switched on to graft...just have to be on the ball,and know the signs ..

You are exactly right , they ain’t that much different from many high prey drive dogs .  Some people hear the words pit or wheaten and they think you have an monster on a lead 

yeah if you lock them in a pen like a monster and just get them out for work your going to have issues. As long as you know the dog , know the signs there is plenty you can do with them . 
I suppose if you keep Bedlington whippets or coursing dogs then of course these are a different animal. 
Not bothered about the haters mate , I have plenty of land to work them on, travel all over Europe to work them on difficult game so I’m sure I will get up to some mischief with her

Mate he put the other dogs to shame that dog. There was presas , a couple of bandogs that are well known in this country for protection and trials work and a couple of American bull dogs. This little 38llb wheaten got smashed 10ft in the air by this one big boar and did not take a step backwards once

I owned and kept 3 wheatens,but I preferred the staffs ,just a personal choice,the wheatens could do the exact same job and just as good too, looking forward to reading your progress and sport in the future

Ive seen staffords and pitbulls and even bull cross lurchers that could do that particular job as good as any of the wheatons I witnessed on my trips to Ireland and were much more level headed and balanced .The Wheatons I saw were all pretty much liabilities

Nice dog and game but too small for pigs by themselves. I've seen a 100kg boar drag five pig dogs including a pit down a hill. You might catch smaller pigs but a big boar will just run the dog into a tree and smash him eventually.

To be honest I did not plan on getting her. A good friend of mine who lives in Ireland bred her. I was offered any one of the litter but declined as I was flat out doing work on my new house . My friend bred her and gifted her to a friend of his in the uk. There was 9 in the litter, he gifted 6 to people and sold 3 . The guy that took her off him could not end up keeping her , said she was nuts and too much drive . My friend asked if I could grab her off him and keep her while he arranged transport back to Ireland . 
I picked her up and decided after a week of spending time with her that I liked her and I was keeping her . Both myself and the guy that bred her was happy. I have own dog here from him and had 2 previously and always been happy with the dogs he has sent me 

Fair play and all the best with her hopefully she does the job for you , interesting in seeing her as she ages , and if the wheaten/pit bull crosses are working for you why change it , theirs always someone with an opinion .

I got two wheaten bitches back in lock down that had seen nothing dont no how old they were they were flying bushing after a few days most biddable dogs Ive ever had they would stay at your heel like collies,no problem with other dogs so long as they were left alone but doggy with strangers,lost them both to a virus before I got to test them I got them in the summer.

The bitch I had could only be worked by herself, she was a liability really. Looked like a litter mate to the dog in your photo, when wet. She also couldn't be trusted around people. A few on here knew her, fecking thing

The bitch I had was well socialised and was worked with dogs until she was about 10 months old. She had a fight with an adult Patterdale bitch before she was 6 months old and it just got worse. 

The Patterdale bitch that she fought wasn't a fighter.
