That as it goes is a good sight to see these days and one you don't see to often...

Been a few years since I seen anyone catch an eel, on the stretch of river where I live, quite a few years actually.

Used to catch about a dozen an hour, when we were kids.

Definitely mate some good 2lb plussers in there as well I,m only a few miles from the sea here so maybe that has a bearing on it but like you I,m happy to see a good net of eels even though it’s not what I’m after, just chuck a tin of cat meat in and leave it ?

did have few when in canada, did not like looking for them though.putting your fingers in dirty water and getting snipped by the little gits was not my idea of fun.did taste really good though.

I don’t think your a long way from me, the Cotswolds water park and upper Thames are heaving with them mate, I,ve caught enough for a good feed just by putting my landing net in the margins with a handful of trout pellet thrown over it leave for 20 mins and lift it out, there are also lots of commercial pots out on a lot of the pits that can be caught with a spinner and emptied if your that way inclined and can’t be arsed with your own traps ?
