I doubt it but he told of instances where drunken marshmen drowned in dykes and there bodies were carted thru the village on 5 bar gates but he was a raconteur also

I bet there was a few muddy reeds in amongst smocks and trailing along in said gates 

I can picture it in my minds eye so to speak
