I’ve been through all stages when I was a kid I was a fat c**t nick named bullet by my family but when I got to secondary school I had a growth spurt an became a lanky streak of piss built like a twig

Is it just me or are there a serious amount of fat folk going around. I don't mean pleasantly plump, I mean seriously morbidly obese. It's always hereditary or an under active thyroid or some other la

It's all the so called poorest cant afford to live types are the fat lazy twats , when in reality they just sit on their arse eating themselves to death with no self respect.

I’ve been through all stages when I was a kid I was a fat c**t nick named bullet by my family but when I got to secondary school I had a growth spurt an became a lanky streak of piss built like a twig then left school by the age of 20 I started putting on a bit of man mass due to eating a poor diet by the time I got to 35 I was a fat c**t again with a 36-38 in waist rocking a un fit fat dad bod the final straw for me was my brothers giving me a bit of brotherly banter that I took to heart I was told I’d never be as  fit looking as them so started not eating as much shit food started eating cleanish i rolled in to my 40s with a 32in waist that’s been hard to maintain I’ve stopped drinking, smoking I eat whole foods a reasonable high protein diet I train 5days a week at home for a hour a day like it’s religion I’ve been doing that for just over a year I started getting in shape for petty reasons but now realise it wasn’t for petty reasons it was for my kids my self an well being I need to be fit for work as well I’ve noticed since I’ve been training my energy levels are through the roof I’m relentless I’ve even noticed my pay as increased.

I see little problem in people being fat.. every thing I consume I pay for from my wage and I enjoy eating and drinking. I would not want to jog up the high street and eat salad for 50 years hoping to be healthy and then get dementia or cancer etc. I'll do what I enjoy now knowing life will be a bit shorter but happier due to the enjoyment I get from food.. In my eyes its no worse than cig, pot or alcohol.

If you want to be thin it's portion control and exercise. I'm not bothered for either tbh..

I,m the same weight at 60 as I was at 20, I eat what I want drink what I want but do keep it all in check ie drink like a fish weekends but have 4/5 days off in the week and I eat good home cooked food with the odd dirty burger treat from time to time I also never sit still even on days I’m not at work I,m busy for 4/6 hours a day walking dogs chopping wood fetching and carrying things to the boat, I have a half mil walk just to put my rubbish in the bin, it’s all about moderation and don’t keep filling your tank if your not burning any fuel ?

Absolutely ditto mate, I'm same weight and waist size as I was 45 years back, plenty of what you fancy with plenty of activity, both mental and physical thrown in ? no worries ?

Cheers, D.

Weight is relative

I’m classed as obese on the bmi scale

yet in the last fitness test 1 person beat me on the run , I did more pull ups than anyone else and lifted the most . Im exercising 14 hours a week in average since February and I’m the fittest I’ve been for a long time .

a lot of it I believe is to do with the general inertness of the average Joe punter , a life lived on Netflix , PlayStations and porn hub all week followed by weekends in the bluebell with 10 pints and few lines down your canister as you wait for the accumulator to come in . Eating shit doesn’t help to be fair

lifestyle choices define who you are , a fit well honed active body imho is the ultimate status , it can’t be bought , it can’t be given , it has to be worked for , weather with assistance or not

fair point Stiff, one thing i will say though , it comes down to your genes? . now my family my side are naturally slim people , mom old mom was 5ft 5in and 9st all her 77 years, my old man was 5ft 9in  and 11 1/2 st all his 85 years , me 5 ft 11 1/2 in  12 st 10lb  all me 70 years, now me and my mom and dad , can  and could eat anything and dont put weight on. my wife  and her family carry lot more weight, and even though me and my wife can eat the same food on our plates, she put weight on and i dont, suppose it the old saying = you pick your friends , you Dont pick your family, and never truer word being spoken .!!
