I'm definitely no expert lol, but dropping the weight of the dog , fitness obviously. 

I am going to judge you now  the dog is what he is and if you wanted a slight speed machine should bought whippet. All you can do is keep him fit and thats your lot really

yeah weren't thinking about coursing to be fair. Just want him to be a bit sharper on the mooch.

No way you can build speed up its got to be there I'm more of an up and at um dog person it's all about that take off for me and the places I go stuff tenders to be close to the cover so your dogs gotta get in there and get stuck in, my young dogs very similar looking to yours hes about 10month old showing promise but it's way early days yet
