Windermere

I fished Windermere last Summer but only successfully  for roach , bream and hybrids, rather than pike .

Well l started off with an evening spinning from the bank, but apart from a baby perch it was a dead loss.

The water was clear ,rocky and surprisingly shallow along the public access areas . There were public jetties that went out to deeper water that looked  perchy/pikeish but they were decorated with holidaymakers at the time .

Eventually l went out in my inflatable kayak and anchored in the middle of a bay about 100 yards from shore in about 5 feet of water. The place was alive with roach, bream and hybrids. I would've thought predators wouldn't have been far away .

Possibly not much help DIDO ,especially as you are off to Grassmere , but l did see a picture of a 20lb plus pike that l think from the details was caught off one of the few public beaches and l suspect it was near the Bowness canoe centre . I was fishing the bay next to it when l hit the roach shoal.

Good luck!
