Very random round me last weekend the does I caught were either not yet pregnant or were only in by a few weeks or so and this weekend I was bolting babies. The spots were very similar land and only a few miles apart, can never quite work out why some start earlier than others.

Had a few young last week on south facing slope. Few with young in them today try and go to the end of the month people are pestering us to get out as bad weather around Christmas means we haven't got to every body yet.

Feb always a tricky time in East Anglia, farmers with shoots where keepers don't want you about ferreting with dogs suddenly interested as days lengthen and they see rabbits and notice damage as ungrazed crops get away.

Not seen any young or caught lactating does near me and pregnancy state variable depending on soil type and how much sun the area gets. One farm I used to have access to on light soil and with several south facing fields would have young from now. Will keep going to end of Feb as I can only get out once or twice a week.

Main issue is early regrowth of nettles, ferrets obviously irritated by them, collie grey a little, poor whippet is beside himself with tingles.
