Myself and my lad are gonna hit the Brecon and Monmouthshire tomorrow and over to the Wye for some pike/perch barbel rods are away until we get some rain and it warms up a touch

Last time I dusted the rods off, with this weather dropping off hopefully cod start making an appearance, try a few marks in the next week or two I think, tight lines

Edit- it was grim , only managed 3 dace and a couple of missed bites and the eyes were constantly freezing up

I fished all summer as was working away and had light evenings, I've not fished since summer though, and that was plastics for perch and pike. Well done for getting out

I was on the Humber sea wall yesterday for a couple of hours but the wind was cutting but worse than that, a dredger was working in the river, perhaps the reason why I never had a touch.  I loaded some new braid on my fixed spool reels, J-Braid Grand, really nice and smooth, casting really well. I just might get another spool to put on one of my multiplier reels to see how well it runs, I did load some Whiplash earlier this year on a spare SLosh20 but I really do not like that stuff so perhaps this J-Braid Grand is a better proposition.

Two weeks ago was the very first time I have caught a hadock, quite a few are being caught on the lincolnshire coast this year.

I follow the black rock net fishermen on fb a they shared a video of an oil slick on the wye at Hereford , apparently discharges have been traced to a culvert that comes from an industrial estate ?
