Labs have a list of faults nowadays longer than an Andrex toilet roll

I read that statistically, chocolate labs have more vet visits than  other coat types. Vets love them. The colour must be associated with more genetic problems. They die earlier too.

Read an article where they reckon it was created over there but the base blood was from A strain of dogs kept on boats in Poole harbour ??

they were bred to swim out to boats and bring the tether lines in

Nope. The original breed was derived from the Newfoundland and Chesapeake  retrievers. Bred originally as life saving breed. Anyone can check the Kennel Club requirements which show the silver as unrecognised as a breed. The AKC do see them as a breed but they must be registered as a chocolate Labrador breed. Therefore it seems fairly sure that a silver is a non breed. IMO. Jok.

They only recognize yellow black or chocolate but they are a variety of different shades of said coloring all three are registered as yellow
