Junior Air Rifle

Recommendations for a junior air rifle for my 10 year old son. He was using a friends pcp with a stock too big for him at the local range but was still pinging targets better than I ever could. Spring or gas ram to start to see how serious he gets into it. Thanks

BSA produce a lovely little rifle in the shape of the ultra which is available with a junior stock which can be replaced when he is older.

My first air rifle was a BSA meteor I don't know what they are like now but a cracking little gun to start any youngster with.

Each to their own but I would recommend a spring piston rifle as a pcp teaches you how to shoot a shovel, brush, clothes prop - big, fat nothing, they bridge all the skills of shooting air or powder burning rifles.

               Please forgive CJP, even in the photo, your sons chin is right behind the butt pad and stretching, lovely fun for him, I know but perfect practice makes perfect, shooting disciplines will still have loads of fun for him, hope that came across the way I wanted it to. 

            " All " good spring rifle shooters make outstanding pcp shooters,- " Never, ever " the other way round 

             At just 10 yrs old, a suggestion would be the HW30, teach him to shoot well  first CJP then a pcp if you have to.
