Decided to not be antisocial

Well some of my cousins aunts and uncles came down from Chicago for Thanksgiving and I'm generally pretty anti social but since I spent Thanksgiving with my gf and her family figured I'd say least hi. Well a few hours later we're cleaning some fish we caught a few before out the pond about a 3min walk from the stove. My uncle who's cleaning the fish used to live down here and do stuff like this all the time but he moved up to Chicago a good while back and ...idk it was nice talking to him and the other men folk..all of them where so happy to be here doing stuff like this.

Then we where talking and some of the women folk said they never shot a gun. Well asked if they wanted to and after about 20min of basic stuff the two of them where absolutely in love with shooting .They where super uneducated about guns in general though. When I mentioned my 10/22 was a semiautomatic just about everyone wanted to jump out their skin thinking it was some assault weapon or something then after I explained it it was all " wait... But the news said .... Well that's actually kinda lame "

Also brought out my AR-15's because they where curious and each one of them wants one now , when I told them they could get them with pink furniture I think it really sold them Will say though I did have one of those know it all FUDD uncle's who ended up walking off pissed when I could explain more then the bs he saw about guns on the news. Guys hunts owns guns but tries to act like white people building AR-15's is a problem but I digress before I rant

But yeah brought out my bolt action trainer and my 10/22 let them run as many round in each with the tripod and they they went from jumping at at sound of a shot to running the bolt and killing cans  They loved my digital scope though  should have taken more pics but

Gotta say getting people not to chicken wing and put their head on the guns is always so tough lol. But yeah water filled  beer can @25yd and they where loving it, even took their can home sad they where gonna mount them

My uncle who live next door ( man's in his 70's still runs a contracting company with 6 it's workers, works cows , hunts fishes lays bricks welds you friggen name it ) said after I told home the scope was a night vision one, everything deer within 100mi better be happy he cant move like he used to

Btw manage to the that cast iron stove up and running

Anyway folk seem to like these posts like this of mine so just another one

As other have said their bluegill ! About medium sized ones. Also have a white crappie.

They are daily boney but not like something's like a pike with Y bones . Alot of folks like to fillet them but honestly fell like you miss / waste alot of the meat that way. Traditional way down here is to make a slit pull the guts out scale them with a spoon then fry or bake them whole

Actually most people even some of the cousins I've had down here who "knew"  really don't have much of a damn clue. Someing as simple as shooting beer cans @25yd was like some kinda sniping to them
