Good info, I've been leaning towards pat x whippet too, since getting him.  And tons of pits around here so you may be spot on.

Definitely wants to go after small game (squirrels, 1 rabbit, cats) so far, and isn't afraid of much.  

He seems still trainable.  Not sure if he'd kill or not, gotta go into the woods and off leash, see what he's like

Smart looking pooch @ reddog70.  Mine def. shows terrier traits but gentle as a sight hound indoors.

I let him go to chase a squirrel a bit ago, now he's mad for them.  Could be wrong but the little b*****d seems like a natural (and a proper X breed)
