Anything imho that doesn’t humanely despatch the quarry , ie those squirrel traps or hold them live in a cage , eg fox traps etc , needs consigned to the dustbin as it’s f***ing despicable .  the

Good job every gun  just instantly kills it's quarry and every hunting dog kills with one swift bite to break a animals neck then eh....

So the leg hold one’s you use these days do have or don’t have serrated jaws ?

They don't. Honestly anything even close to those type of traps is beyond frowned upon . Especially due to the fact we deal with a lot of non target by catch. Not everything we cat h is going to get . 22 so it's imperative that where able to release no target with as little damage to them as possible. So stuff like those and what most people think of is just not acceptable.

It's actually extremely common to sand jaw faces smooth to the touch round off and sharp edges weld on extra metal stock to make the jaws wider thus displacing pressure and improving blood flow ect.

And the guys who do live market where they need to have food feet and be able to run , are checking before the sun's up doing crazy modifications to improve blood flow stop, foot sliding ( which can result in lacerations), swivels on top of swivels,   go as far as doing small amounts of vet work to make sure animals are as healthy as possible .

For alot of people a animal that's damaged to the point it can't walk or run has no value whatsoever . No to mention traps that don't treat animals well are just not good for us , especially when your dealing with hunting dogs , free roaming pets animals that can on my harvested at certain times and by certain people with tags in some states . You have to be able to release them as in hammed as possible.

And if course swelling and bruising isn't uncommon but after a day or two most are just fine . I say most because nothing is 100% but he'll if you've seen some of the injuries these animals receive though their lives just dealing with other animals, and just living with it what we consider not acceptable is a joke in all of mother natures actually pretty cruel reality.
