Heres my collie cross 7 now done everything ive thrown at him over the seasons. His dam was same i mated her to her own nephew to line breed from a very good line of collie lurchers with grey collie n

Never really had one before. Dogs in the past have been a bit of a hotch potch. But I love the nature of this one at least. Bright as hell eager to please and it's not a battle. Just wants to please

I went against my beliefs and got a half x, she has done 9 seasons now without so much as a knock, she will be 10 this Xmas, iv gone down the kelpie route now, I’m made up with her so far, this being

Her recall is going well lol

and a happy thing for sure.

only issue we got really is she is a piddler. Keeps piddling in her bed area in the run and in her crate in house at night though not as much. I am thinking maybe because her run is mostly wet this time of year maybe that is not helping. Its roofed but the yard is all ways wet in this weather. Her bed end then is nice and warm and dry as its raised. Thinking I might devise some sort of big tray in her run full of saw dust maybe that would encourage her. She shites in the right place fine. Tried boxing off the bed section small and now got blue barrel full of straw in there just so I can keep it clean easier

Hope he gets summat he likes, best think I ever done was sacrifice a bit speed and go back to the good ole half cross, I’d not swap this kelpie cross for nowt, nowhere near best dog I ever had but by far best dogs I could have now ?

Are the kelpie crosses less intense in their behaviour than border collie crosses? (talking ones with something like half herder blood)
